Another Great Book Set In Talyton St George

I enjoyed reading the 7th book in the Talyton St George series, this time about Stevie (short for Stephanie), who returns home from her job in the City to help her Father run the family farm which has run into trouble.
I enjoyed catching up with characters from previous books like Jennie and Guy who live on the next farm, and Jack the local Wildlife and Animal officer. In keeping with Cathys books Leo is the locum Vet at Alex's large animal practice and he plays a big part in this book.
Looking forward to reading book 8 ....

For all the wrong reasons. The first 3/4 of the book were ok but the the final 1/4 was nothing short of dire. I've read all of the series of books and this was by far and away the worst of what's been a very good bunch. I found I didn't take to a single character or care about them in any way. Then came the massive problem of pregnancy and babies, a subject I despise and have no wish to read about in any way, shape or form. I couldn't wait to get to the end just so as I finished it, there was no enjoyment in it at all. Cathy Bramley has written a similar story and I have to say written it much better. The writing, I didn't think was up to previous books and the story felt clunky and disjointed. The whole thing felt rushed. I really hope this was a temporary blip in the quality of the series.

This is book number 7 in Cathy Woodman's Talyton St. George series. I must admit, I was very surprised to read a bad review of this book, but it is absolutely fabulous as always.

This book covers the story of a new character in the series, so it could be read as a stand-alone book. But I like the fact that I have read all of the books in the series, and enjoy hearing about characters from previous books.

This is typical chick-lit, in a good way! There was a surprise twist in the middle, which threw the plot entirely. But I really enjoyed the story and how it ended. It has the feel good factor, a really lovely book.

Being the daughter in law of a dairy farmer, I can relate to this book about life on a dairy farm and so enjoyed it for that reason. Also it was one of those novels that didn't spend too much time with the heroine in denial about falling for her man and it was quite down to earth and true to life. The twist in it also added another dimension to the story, so in general a good all round escapism read for me!

I would award ten stars if I could. I've read all of the vet series by Cathy Woodman and others within the series.

Country Loving is a feel good, and feel sad sometimes book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were all believable, most of them met by us in previous books. The new ones added to the depth and richness of the whole thing.

I'd love a follow-up but somehow doubt there'll be one.

I loved the bit where Mary was described as rocking a baby (Holly) as fast and furious as a cocktail shaker!

All in all a highly recommended book! Well worth reading, I would begin with "Trust me, I'm a Vet" and read them in order. They are great for all ages. ENJOY
