Corsair is one of my favorite PC components vendors. They seem to focus on high quality and tend to be reasonable prices. I decided that for this build I would go with a Corsair case, and the 275 R was attractive, but classy. Not severely blinged out like most gamer-branded cases are nowadays. You can still go RGB and show it off with a nice tempered side window. There are three front panel white LEDs the shine down from the front bottom and add a really slick look. From the pics on Amazon I assumed the front was a brushed metal, but it is plastic made to look like it. Fine, really. Less likely to scratch. There is plenty of room for a front mounted radiator and I have an H110i in there (280mm with 2 x 140 mm fans). You probably would not be able to mount it on top inside the case as it would block the top of the motherboard, but that is good because you don't want a radiator there anyway. Better to have it in the front to bring fresh air in. An ATX board just fits vertically with little room to spare - a few mm's. The bottom of the case for the PSU and HDD rack (2 bays) is segregated from the rest of the case - bonus. Cable management features are excellent. There is a vertical GPU mount option, but don't - your fans will be up against the glass and you wont get airflow.
Here are the problems:
- Grommets not included. Really?!? a $0.30 part that you have to order special? Come on guys.
NOTE: My dad bought the same case in black and grommets and a top magnetic dust screen were included.
- No room to attach PSU cables after it is in the case - difficult to get it in with cables connected.
Here is my pro-tip. If you do not plan to use mechanical HDDs, then pull the HDD cage out BEFORE you start your build. You will have plenty of room for cables and PSU. Otherwise you will be fighting the whole time.
Otherwise a very nice and slick looking case built with usual Corsair quality. Some compromises made to keep the size down, but you know that going in. Highly recommended.
