Wow...less than 150 reviews so far?? I never wore sneakers often until I changed jobs to from NJ to NYC and walk over a mile for my commute everyday. Used to be a Creative Recreation die-hard but ended up trying a pair of black patent leather Chucks earlier this year and loved the classic look. They became quite comfortable after two full weeks of wear but definitely had it's flaws. The slipping tongue and uncomfortable break-in and oh so crappy insoles were some factors that had me questioning my change in brands. I ended up using these which worked very well until it wore a hole into the insides of the sneakers because of how rigid they are:
These Chuck II's remedy all of the flaws. The padding and sturdiness of the ankles make for a more comfortable and supportive wear. The insoles are thicker and offer much more cushion/support that I don't feel like I need to change them out. Been wearing them about a week now and only feel minimal pinkie toe abrasion/discomfort breaking them in. I think after another week these will be good to go. I also love the color design as it is more minimalist with the same color eyelets and laces as the top with the white bottoms. It's a little bit more expensive than the previous model but that's what <$100 sneakers are for. You wear em into the ground and buy a new pair when you've abused the hell outta them. The sizing was the same as the original Chuck's for me. I don't think I'd play ball in them as they were originally designed for, but for stomping out at parties or running from the cops, these will do.
