I have fitted countless tyres over the years, but even my beloved Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres [which are famed for being a tight fit] are a doddle to put on by comparison. I punctured 3 innertubes trying to fit this one. The only positive I can see is that a puncture on a turbo trainer seems unlikely! Would I recommend it? Difficult to say. The quality seems good, but only if it is possible to get on! Overall, I regret the purchase. However, the retailer was superb. I am dreading having to take it back off for the Spring and Summer road tyre to go back on - in fact, I may just buy a new wheel for the bike!
Excellent product. After spending ages trying to find a correct tyre (26×175) for my MTB, I eventually found this one. Although a little more expensive than other brands I had purchased in the past, it turned out the be money well spent. It out lasted two other well known brands I 'd purchased by almost twice as long and seemed a good deal quieter. I would highly recommend this tyre.
Fantastic training tyre for use with my Tacx Blue Matic turbo trainer.
Fitted to my hybrid bike which had been running Schwalbe Marathon 365 tyres.
The hometrainer tyre is extremely quiet and does not heat up with the added bonus too - no little bits of rubber fly off whilst using the trainer!
Would definitely recommend. Really really easy to fit - hands only.
Had tried the turbo trainer with the aforementioned Schwalbe tyres (which are hybrid - not overly knobbly) - sounded like a jet fighter was flying around the round, totally unusable! Plus the tyre got really hot, very quickly and degraded too, many little bits of rubber all over the floor!
Made absolutely no difference in regards to the road tyres for reducing sound, as for it's lifespan, that's yet to be determined. Probably these will last longer, seem's to wear a little slower, but not used it long enough to know the answer to that yet, but for £23, I don't think they're worth this much, if they were £13-15 I'd give them 5 star.
I bought a turbo trainer after breaking my arm in a couple of places while out cycling and needed a tyre for my old mountain bike. It fitted really easily and is as quiet as can be, you do get drag noise but it's a thousand times better than a mountain bike tyre. I don't get any bits of tyre left on the floor either.
Good, large enough so I can fit this around an mtb treaded tyre to use with my kinetic trainer. It does decrease the noise after some playing with tyre pressure, and of course runs much smoother than a treaded tyre... just what I required
