They reunite, Killan supposedly saving her late fathers business. Then the deception starts. Sloane is innocent & totally oblivious to why he is treating her the way her does. And let me say I have never hated someone as I did Killan as this is intense. Majorly !
When the truth comes out its a shock to both & his tail is between his legs & that's not all lol. No I don't think he redeemed himself. But I suppose all h's forgive them in one way or another.
So yes it was hot, I loved Sloane, I wanted to do bad things to Killan & a few other people. Great read, some suspense & a lot of drama. I took off 1/2 a star for Killan.
Yes there were consequences to the deception.
It's a different storyline & one that you have to keep reading to get the full story. I liked it.
I loved Killian (Ella using Charlie Hunnam as inspiration totally had me hooked - thanks for that by the way). I like Sloane - her feisty nature & smart mouth had me cheering for her (even if she did forgive a lot quicker than I would have).
It was a good read for me :)
He was a tad too overbearing and she came across as a bit of a wet blanket - spank my a** while your at it.
The plot was out of touch with any connected sense or possibility that this could happen.

Enjoyed this book immensely but I have to say I was extremely frustrated and heartbroken at times with Killian but I guess that is where the author was going with this story.
A huge deception that was followed with it's devastating consequences.
Killian hated Sloane with everything he had but he used to be in love with her...so what changed?
Sloane loved Killian...well loves...that never stopped
They meet again and everything changes.
Well Killian was a smoking hot alpha who for most of this book was hateful to Sloane and I wanted to throw my kindle on Sloane 's behalf many times but she loved him therefore put up with a lot of heartache.
My only slight complaint would be after the years of Killian's venom Sloane was way too forgiving...way too quickly !
Maybe that just makes me a bitch because i so would have made him suffer even knowing the reason for his behaviour because Sloane was a victim too but never would have treated her true love that way...
Saying that I got sucked into this story and the frustration I felt...well kudos to great writing for that!
Loved the epilogue...I love it when they are set many years ahead and I felt satisfied with the ending to their story.
The story starts with Sloane worshipping and ultimately starting a relationship with Killian at the beginning when tragedy strikes and all ties are severed.
Flash forward and Killian decides to bring about ultimate revenge for what he believes to have happened, or did it ??
Sloane is no push over and pushes every single one of Killian's hot alpha buttons, he is answerable to no one, never explains himself and leaves Sloane feeling alone and confused even when in the same room. They have a hot, primal chemistry which leads to plenty of scorching action between them
Events unfold, sides have to be taken and an explosive conclusion occurs and who will Killian believe? Will Sloane be safe and will their be a future for them both?
As many other reviews have said Killian really is hard to love for the first half of this book. I really did find myself hating him even though you could tell the character was battling with himself.
There is one particular scene which i think is so amazingly written i burst out crying at about 1am in the morning under my duvet feeling every single emotion Sloane was feeling, the emptiness the not caring anymore the not wanting to live feeling, the character felt . . . i felt that every emotion she felt whilst reading that scene. Like the character in that moment i had lost all hope in Killian, he had pushed it too far.
But . . . .Ella Fox managed to pack in some great twists in this book and slowly and surely brings the heart and the characters back to life.
Really wonderful book, would highly recommend
This is the story of Sloane and Killian, previous best friends/loves who get separated by tragedy only to be reunited out of hate and revenge. However not everything is as it seems; filled with mystery, secrets and misunderstandings.
A beautiful love story of two people destined to be together. A great standalone that I would recommend.
