5.0 out of 5 stars Of Love, Masks and Quite Sensitive Sociopaths 6 September 2014
By M. Guerrero - Published on Amazon.com

Few things are as endearing as a hard assassin with a gentle heart. Oliver Tunstall is a well-dressed and better trained hit man. I fell for his charm (and adept gun hand) in A Conversation with Oliver. This sequel is just as delicious as the first novella, but different… in an enjoyable way.

The action starts somewhat slower than in the last story. At first, the pace made me squirm impatiently in my seat. But very close to the end, I got a chance to see—once again—just how brilliant B. R. Marsten is when it comes to setting up just the right circumstances.

A Confession from Oliver is full of love, lust, revenge, sacrifice, murder, lust… and just the right amount of bantering I’ve come to expect from a man who enjoys his “quiet little sociopathic life.” If you like your danger loaded with humor, then you’ll definitely like the latest Oliver tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars How I fell in love with a hit man! 31 August 2014
By Sharon S Rawson - Published on Amazon.com

What do you get when you mix a cool, controlled hit man with a puzzle to solve and a friendly priest pushing for confessional salvation? A romp through some of the best dialogue ever! Funny, clever, twisty plot left me still very much in love with Oliver and wanting to tie the author to his chair in front of his computer and administer caffeine intravenously until the next book is written!
4.0 out of 5 stars Oliver returns with equally strong dialogue and humor as in ... 13 September 2016

Oliver returns with equally strong dialogue and humor as in the first novel, this time matched with a larger cast of resonant characters. The atheist in me was engrossed in the exchange between Oliver and the priest, delighting in their dark philosophical banter. The quiet conversation built steadily before plunging Oliver into much more turbulent waters. The ending was the equivalent of a cinematic experience, handled with such deftness I read it a number of times, as much for pure pleasure as for admiration of skill. Incredible stuff.
