I was able to play TC-R6-SIEGE at about 105 fps (on thehighest settings I could go to)
PUBG gave me 85-90, the processor is bad for it though.
CSGO gave me well above 250
Basically this processor gets you to a point where the average person thinks "oh, I don't have to worry about frames that much" for a processor that only costs 220$.
Sadly, the market has changed and I do not recommend buying this at the moment, which is why one star has been taken off. I would not have paid over 270$ for this card. I value it at about that much for what strikingly stunning performance it has given me.
The missing star: Heads up, when I bought it MSI was offering a $15 rebate, I completed the requirements to a T and it was denied. When I inquired they said it's because I didn't include a valid receipt and mailing a printed receipt from Amazon which is what I did isn't good enough... seeing as printing a receipt is the only way to get one with Amazon for mailing and seeing as the printed rebate requirements say to do that they were clearly not making it possible to claim it. That was disappointing to me, definitely haven't ever had that issue with Asus. Docking a star specifically from the OEM, I love MSI but that's not the proper way to handle an incentive.
This is the GPU I picked out for my first PC build, with my particular model being the 6GT OCV1. Part of me wishes I'd gone with a Gaming X version since it'd fit the black/red color scheme I got going, but at the time I didn't feel like spending a few extra bucks was worth the aesthetics. And besides, the performance I've gotten out of this card has been pretty solid, especially considering what I've read on GPUs.
If you're looking for a strong 1080p gaming card, you really can't go wrong with a 1060. Doom on Ultra settings almost never dips below triple-digits; Witcher 3 you can almost max out while achieving a framerate in the high 40's to mid 70's. I also highly recommend overclocking your GPU; I added 140/350 MHz to the core/memory clocks, which almost always translates to over 2000 MHz clock speed and the card never gets hotter than 80 degrees, even during benchmarks. If you're looking to dabble in 1440p, you can probably get away with it on older, less demanding games, but if you're looking to keep up with current and upcoming games at that resolution, the 1070 should be your bare minimum.
