Of course this book would be a five star read, I had no doubt in my mind. I have never read a bad book from this author, long may it continue.
Sadie works for a hot tabloid magazine, that is until she puts in a male model's picture for her love article, which she knows is a no no, or her so called assistant does, and she is let go from her job.
Trying to get her life back she goes off to the small town where she grew up, but which also holds a dark past, and bumps into an old friend. The story takes hold when a accident happens and changes Sadie’s world for the worse.
Jaxson (sun dance) is the model/ photographer that Sadie used in her story. He's running away from life to a new start and new job after his ex-fiancée gets married.
Their paths meet one stormy night in the airport when she is posing as someone else as part of a con and he is waiting to get on a plane to his new life. But, when they instantly click, can Sadie go along with the con, especially after spending the night having hot steamy sex with him?
I loved the characters in this book. They had real chemistry from the off and the mystery and suspense, along with the hot sex, made it an enjoyable can't-put-it-down read, the twists and turns kept you gripped right until the end. You might even find you fall a little in love with Jaxson and his dirty mind yourself.

Sadie Banks has always been a good girl, but when something happens and she needs money fast, she'll do anything to get it including stealing from someone. However, stealing from Jaxson Cassidy is a bad idea, especially when she steals his most prized equipment; equipment he needs for his career as a photographer. Yet, when Jaxson catches up with Sadie, he doesn't know whether he'll turn her in to the authorities or use what happened to his advantage. But once he makes a decision, Sadie knows she's lucky that Jaxson is the one she stole from, especially once Sadie discovers the lengths someone is willing to go to in order to see that she loses everything. Will Jaxson be able to help Sadie escape the clutches of a madman, or will they lose their shot at happy ever after?
Ms. Karr pens such attention-grabbing, spicy romances and this story was very entertaining due to the trouble Sadie is facing surrounding why someone is out to get her for things she did in the past. Will the truth come out before it's too late? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time where this story really takes off, as Sadie doesn't know whether she can go through with what she has planned.
As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, the trouble the heroine is facing and the obstacles this couple face on their journey to happy ever after. Will Jaxson believe Sadie's story? Will Jaxson turn her in? Will the trouble Sadie is facing because someone is determined to make her pay for the past work out for the best? Will Jaxson be able to get to the bottom of the heroine's troubles before anything too terrible happens? Moreover, I really enjoyed both the main characters and I liked that Jaxson was willing to be her savior because she certainly needs one after everything she's been through before they meet.
With the main characters, Sadie is resilient, courageous and I liked how determined she was to make things right, even if it means making hard decisions that may put her life in danger. I also liked how determined she was to make things right with Jaxson because he doesn't deserve what she does to him. While the hero, he's confident, hard-working and I liked how determined he was to help the heroine because it's palpable she needs someone on her side. I also liked how protective the hero was of the heroine and that he would do anything to make certain her past doesn't come back bite her, especially once he discovers how much of a psychopath the person out to get Sadie is. Will he be able to protect her before anything too bad happens to her?
Overall, Ms. Karr has delivered another wonderful read in this book where emotions run high because Sadie does wrong by Jaxson and then tries to make things right; the chemistry between this couple was intense and just kept getting stronger; the romance was fan-your-face hot and had me loving how determined the hero is to take care of Sadie; and the ending had me worried for one of the main characters, but had me loving how things work out for these two. No way will Jaxson allow Sadie to get away from him, especially not after what happens. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up brilliantly, as the hero has wonderful and exciting news for the heroine. I would recommend Come a Little Closer by Kim Karr, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope, contemporary romance with a dash of suspense, or books by authors Melanie Harlow, Vi Keeland, Lauren Blakely and Tessa Bailey.

Wow! Kim hooked me in right from the start. Stacey has a job as a blogger and loses her job finding herself alone and with no money. She hooks up from a blast from the past Simon who convinces her to steal since it the only way she can get money. She picks up Jaxson a photographer in a bar at the airport ending up going to share a hotel room with him when their flights get canceled. She wakes up early and does a runner with Jaxsons cameras and money he has in his wallet. She then panics and returns it to Jaxson leaving it outside their hotel room. She does a runner after a car accident while with Simon.Simon gets her a bogus ticket for a flight to Antiqua after she pays an official some bribe money. Sarah can't believe it when the next day she finds Jaxson at the same resort as herself panicking once again and running. Not sure whether he can trust her Jaxson gets a hacker friend to find all he can about Stacey. He finds things out he doesn't like and wonders if she's still lying to him. Events from Stacey's past involving her past start catching up with her leaving both Jaxson and Stacey in danger. This book has everything romance, angst, mystery, thrills and intrigue keeping you riveted and making this a hard to put down read. I received a copy (thank you) to do an honest review for Naughty Nightie Book Blog.

B o r i n g, and ridiculously annoying

Zzzzzzz omg this was truly just awful, in my opinion. The main male character was great, not a single complaint. The main female character - wow. What a waste of my time! So ate up. An incredible downer, and self inflicted, ridiculous storyline as to how she became such a huge downer. Alcohol plays a huge part, hates that it’s ruined her life growing up, etc don’t want to give too much away. But then everything that she inflicts upon herself leading to well, everything, involves - you guessed it. Over and over. What the hell?? It’s not the lighthearted rom com it presented itself to be. I tried so hard to hang in there till it started getting interesting, and I could care about anything here. Anything! I had purchased as a CD so I could listen on my drive home from work every day. I like to listen to Recorded Books (MP3, CD, etc) in the car at the end of the workday I kept trying to hang in there to get to the good part of the book where it would lift off and take me on its journey. Finally started skipping whole chapters after the 3rd day, then literally popped it out halfway thru and tossed it. Seriously. So mad I purchased as CD or I’d return it online, as I do with some books when they’re this bad. Here’s $20 I’ll never get back. Not worth the effort. Highly do not recommend.

What a great little romance that really tells us that love is not perfect, but can form from a bunch of special connections we have to each other. I loved the suspense and the incredible heat coming from the chemistry between Sadie and Jaxson. So beautifully unique and special how they found that they had so much more in common than they originally thought.

Down on her luck columnist goes home after the death of a family friend and gets caught up in a huge theft scheme. She crosses paths with a breakout photoghrapher and it gets crazy from there.
It was an incredible journey of a book, but thfe story for kind of hard to follow and in some places I felt lost. It eventually made sense, but there were a few parts thfat just seemed disjointed.

What a great book. The chemistry and the suspense. They both developed feelings for each other. She was being blackmail and thinking she was evil. Great book

I absolutely loved this story and the characters that were within this story. I loved that characters from the authors other book ‘The Thing About Love’ and we got to see what was happening with the main characters from that story. I loved the suspenseful element of this story and the way that the story kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through the story. There were many twists and turns throughout the story that I did not see coming. The storyline of this story was a definite page turner and I absolutely loved every page of this story.
Sadie Banks has had a string of bad luck in her life and her past is currently coming back to haunt her. It’s obvious that Sadie tries to the right thing in life, but circumstances cause her to sometimes do things that she doesn’t like. This causes her to feel like she is a bad person despite trying to the right thing.
Jaxson was introduced to readers in the authors other book ‘The Thing About Love’ and in this book we got to learn more about him. We learnt about the devastation he felt about his engagement to Jules ending and her marrying someone else. We also got to see the hot dominant alpha male that created some incredible hot moments in the story. Jaxson I absoltuly loved reading about and found him to be not only incredible sexy character but also a good guy.
Come a little closer is about Sadie Banks whose life completely change due to circumstances out of her control. This sees her meeting Jaxson who was at the top of his career and sees the good in her. But Sadie thinks she is a bad girl that doesn’t deserve love, can the good guy turn her around.
Kim Karr has written an incredible story that flowed all the way through. This story had everything I love in a story, angst, drama, suspense, romance and steamy moments to create an engaging storyline. These two characters are amazing together that had an intense connection between them that resulted in many hot moments. This is a definite must read for everyone and one that I highly recommend.
