Colters' Woman (Colters' Legacy Book 1) Kindle Edition
From the Back Cover
Holly Bardwell is running from her past mistakes. Straight into the arms of the Colter brothers.
Adam, Ethan and Ryan aren't looking for women. They're looking for a woman. One woman they know will share their lives and their beds. They're losing hope they'll find her, that is until Adam discovers Holly lying in the snow just yards from their cabin.
Adam knows she's the one the minute he holds her in his arms, and as soon as his brothers see her, they know it too. The only problem is convincing Holly of that fact--and protecting her from the danger of her past.

There are several things I enjoyed about this novel, the first being realistic character growth. They are not all perfection from the moment we meet them but nor do the remain the same for the entire of the novel. There is nothing more appealing then gradual character development. The other part I fell in love with was the issue at hand not being solved in one easy swoop but is worked at in several ways throughout a the novel. All in all we have sexy men, great character development and a less then basic plot. Oh and steamy adult content with said hunks. Highly recommend.
Found Holly likeable, gullible and weak to start but enjoyed how she slowly grew up and grew a backbone.
Liked the three brothers but felt they rushed Holly into a relationship.
The time apart at the end probably did them all some good.
Entertaining plot with some believable moments of self-doubt and why me?
The overall plot with the ex-husband was okay but decidedly short at the finish.
Have owned this book for ages but am reviewing older stories as I tidy up my books.
Addition to review - this newer version I read through my library. It has the two novelettes that were free from the author years ago.
COLTERS’ WIFE is the short story of their first child being born and how grateful Holly is to have three wonderful men in her life.
CALLIE’S MEADOW is about how their daughter joins the family.
Holly is pregnant for the fourth time, much to the concern of her husbands, due to having had a bad time with the third child’s birth.
They buy Holly the meadow she has always loved adjoining their property and it is whilst having a picnic there with her three sons that their daughter Callie is born.
Both are nice insights into this family expanding and growing.

For me this book really lacked a bit of heart – for all its cosy fireside snuggles it just seemed a little cold.
The story starts with the eldest of the three brothers, Adam, finding a woman lying unconscious in the snow. Knowing she needs help, he takes her back to the cabin he shares with his two brothers to nurse her back to health. But... along the way he starts to get incredibly turned on. Not so cool considering she's freakin' unconscious. It does give him jolt though because he 'knows' that this is the woman.
You see the Colters are a strange family to say the least. Strange because their mother married three brothers and their grandmothers married three brothers. So they all share the same mother but different dads... or who the hell knows who is the father to which. I was just impressed that none of them had a third eye.
Holly is running away from her husband who killed a man on their wedding night. Waking up in a cabin with three strange men, well, she didn't seem that upset about it. But, hey, three great looking guys all fussing over you? I think I'd stay too.
Soon she's kissing the brothers and feeling kind of skanky and confused about how attracted she is to each one. When they tell her that she's THEIR woman to kind of share well, it gets kind of steamy.
What I loved about the book- the guys! You have Adam, the eldest brother who is very take charge and call's her baby. He once crushed on the local town Sheriff and hoped she would be the one but his brothers reacted with both dislike and indifference. Bow that he has Holly he knows why and all thoughts of the Sheriff are a thing of the past. All he wants it to love and protect Holly.
Ethan (my favourite) is the charming, funny and more relaxed brother. He's always got a smile and something funny to say and I was green because I wanted to snuggle up to him and play Monopoly.
Last, there's Ryan, an ex solider he has a lot of pains with his legs, is stubborn and very serious. He tends to keep things to himself but opens up around Holly.
The boys made this book for me. They had it all! I wanted to be their woman, because let's face it ladies, anyone who claims they wouldn't want to be worshipped by three gorgeous men are lying!
What I didn't like -Holly.
The woman is beyond idiotic. She marries a guy because he's safe, he kills someone she runs off and doesn't seem to be a little afraid of the fact that she's with three random men who want to have sex with her... at the same time.
The fact that she was a virgin and her first time was with three different men and she seemed to show no discomfort shocked me.
When Lacey (town Sheriff) makes her appearance she's irrationally jealous. I get why, Adams great catch, but her reasons were stupid. I would have felt insecure about the fact that this woman was the one he'd wanted and only didn't get because his brothers didn't like her and got me by default, not because she's tall and pretty and is confident. I had to roll my eyes at that one.
All through the book she's just whining and fearing for the guys and I just tuned her out after a while and imagined how sexy those brothers were.
To those who are thinking of reading it, I say go for it, but don't take the book too seriously. This is porn that's just been written and it's awesome for it. Don't pay too much attention to how bizarre it all is or whether the fact that it's kind of wrong. Just do what I did and go along for the ride... and make sure you have you partner around because it will get you hot and bothered ;)
Thankfully the book was saved by the characters themselves and the sheer number of super sexy scenes. That's why I've still given it a decent rating. The book regularly jumps from one sexy scene to another and you can't help but keep turning the pages. I enjoyed it but with both of the books I've read I can't help but feel that something was missing and I can't put my finger on it. I haven't written her off though and will probably buy more of her books in the future.
Great looking, suitably tormented alpha male lead characters, vulnerable female lead, really horrid - and unexpected - villains, great scenery (true) - and deliciously wicked sex scenes! I was left wondering how poor Holly, the object of the Colter brothers' desire, was going to cope with these three hot and hunky men after the story ended. My favourite character was Ryan, the youngest Colter; a tortured soul from his stint in the Iraq war (of course he won't talk about it - except to Holly...).
I would have given it a 5 star rating but the language, especially during the sex scenes, tended to be a little 'samey', and that grated on my nerves just a little bit.
That said, if you want an easy afternoon read, curled up with nothing but your favourite dessert and a hot chocolate, then this is the jobbie for you.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
The additional content in the book after the novel's finished is called Callie's meadow. I suggest reading Colter's Wife first then coming back to Callie's meadow in order to keep them in sequence!
