Just didn’t feel their sexual relationship was balanced or right for Callie. Felt she had been given a different personality to the girl we knew.
I thought Max’s reasons for what he did strange. Yes, it was a deathbed promise but his mother had sold the land in good faith so why make Max promise to get it back.
His actions towards Callie were poor and though I did like him at the end I just wish he had been upfront and honest and taken his lumps rather than Callie go through so much pain.
The ending had to end up as it did of course, or no HEA but though sweet seemed to unravel too quickly.
Callie just forgives and forgets even though she was still obviously distraught. Okay, your dream house is not to be discounted as an apology but it would have made more sense if her family had been involved and told her how hard Max had worked and how Max had pined for her.

Callie was weak and had no self respect. The best part of the book was that Callies families characters stayed true to the first 2 books. I get where Banks was trying to go with the dom / subservient relationship but missed the mark completely.
I was impressed by the intense story line and the connection between the hero and heroine were so real.
Hot love scenes that had great follow through.
