The Color of a Silver Lining (The Color of Heaven Series Book 13) by Julianne MacLean (Author)
What a wonderful story.
In the beginning of the book I thought it was going to be short stories about loss, but as I kept reading I found out that they were all connected.
Big spoiler coming up. I highly recommend this book... I think it's great.. And now for my small spoiler alert...
Tragic loss of one child leaves a family torn apart. He blames her, she blames herself. He tells her to leave and she does. She meets Luke and he helps her through her ruff past only the past is not finished with her yet. They are to be married but first she has to get divorced, doing this opens up the hurt again. She and her ex husband must mend the rift between them. In doing this they realise that they love each other.
But don't stop here because now I felt so bad for Luke... I only spoiled a wee bit for you, if you are intrigued you need to know there is a whole bunch I left out before the rift is mended. Grab your copy and dive in, wow.. dive in.. that's original considering the story.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review, in no way was I influenced by the author or anyone else with my review, it is my own.
This is a beautifully crafted story of new beginnings and hope and love. The further I read the more engrossed I became. All the characters, Bev, Louise, Emma, Carter and Luke, were so real to me. Their pain and their joy, their dreams and their hopes all got to me. I've only ever read Julianne Maclean's historicals before and I admit to being a little apprehensive about reading one of her contemporary novels but me concerns were completely unfounded. She has nailed it with this story. It truly tugged st my heart strings. Just a lovely, lovely story.
All the stories in the Heaven series are beautifully written, they unfold and share such beautiful sentiments. I have loved every single book & I feel a real connection with Juliannes beliefs throughout every one, I look forward to more in this series.
I love The Color of Heaven series, and I 1-Click one whenever they are on a special price deal. The themes vary, though some are interconnected with shared characters. What always stands out is the relationships. These stories always contain miraculous coincidences, twists of fate and supernatural events wrapped up in a compelling, emotional, and highly entertaining tale. (Spoilers below) This time we meet a single mother, Bev, and her young daughter, Louise, who meet with an unexpected accident that changes their lives. The media has hounded them, ever since Louise revealed an out-of-body experience she had while unconscious. Across the country, a young divorcee, Emma, now newly engaged to local businessman, Luke. Emma lost a child in a backyard accident which eventually ended her marriage to Carter. But after Louise's story makes headlines, both Emma and Carter start a line of communication about their lost boy, Sammy, which brings them closer together. Luke has no idea that he is a father, until he sees the publicity photo and article about little Louise. He contacts Bev for confirmation and suddenly his world is tipped on its end. She's the woman he had one magical night with, several years ago.
Wow what a story I loved every word from beginning with all that sadness to a happy ever after the author made you feel like sometimes the very best can last a lifetime A wonderful world of faith and honesty with a little bit of fairy dust
I found each character in the story had a story to tell .Once I started reading I found it hard to put the book (Kindle) down .The ending was really heartening as every one found their match.
