Cold (Stone Cold Fox Trilogy Book 2) Kindle Edition
She was too beautiful. Too smart. And her emerald green eyes saw too much.
I wanted space-she took it away.
I craved her lips-she gave me her kiss.
I screwed it up-she got smart.
Avoiding me is the right thing to do. I'm messed up, tortured, and probably always will be.
But I still want her.
Her mind. Her body. Her heart. I want it all.
And this time, I'm in control. No matter what I have to do, I will make her mine.
Note: Levi and Ivy's story will continue in Book Three-Fox.

Boy, was it worth the wait!
Right from the get go we were taken on another ride with Levi and Ivy.
But ugh, Ivy! She spent most of the book irrationally mad at Levi for things that happened at the end of book one, even though she knows what really happened. To me she felt quite immature for most of the book and I wanted to shake some sense into her. She eventually kinda comes around but boy did she test me in this installment.
Levi is just everything. The more we learn the more we love him.
We know this is going to be another cliffy, ready for book 3, so I was wondering as I read "what can be the things that we end on this time?"
Oh. My. God. You are going to be shocked with things happen.
Now I can't wait for the final installment. Is it May yet?
After the ending in the first book, I was wondering how things would play out, and how they would move on from the incident. But Max and Monroe have done a wonderful job with this storyline. It moves well, things get explained well, and the characters have me captivated.
Every time I would need to put the book down because my break time was over at work, or I had to go to bed so I could function at work the next day, I was disappointed. Because I just wanted to keep reading. I HAVE to know how this will play out. I HAVE to know whats in store for these characters. I’ve grown attached to them, all the rude and angry comments included.
While there are some things that had me annoyed at particular characters, it all added to the depth of the story. The emotional reactions the characters have and bring out in each other is fantastic, even if a lot of the time it can feel over the top or unwarranted.
And of course, we all expect a cliff hanger, because we know this book isn’t the end of the story, but that ending? So many things were just thrown at me, and its so much to take in, that SOMEONE PLEASE JUST GIVE ME FOX RIGHT NOW. STAT. DID I MENTION RIGHT NOW? K THANKS.
Anyhooo…There are so many possible theories for what could happen in Fox, that its going to be a hell of a wait until we get to find out, even if it is only a month away.
I always enjoy Max Monroe books, and their romcoms are fab, but this series, this is a whole new style of writing from them which I ADORE. I really hope that after this trilogy, we get more thrilling and intense books like this too.
This trilogy is proving to be one hell of a ride, especially with Max Monroe at the helm. In book 2 we find Levi still trying to get Ivy to talk to him and to gain her trust, it takes a while but Ivy soon accepts that she’s drawn to Levi. Cue her stalker to arrive with some pretty stalkery things. The angst and suspense then ramp up until we hit the end, and we’re left on a massive cliffhanger. I really like Max Monroe’s writing style and they’ve done well in this genre. Bring on No 3!

The frustrations I felt only made the book feel more real and gives the characters a more human depth to themselves. Honestly some books that I have read, the characters are too narrow minded and don't seem to have a personality.
I did fall more in love with Levi and Ivy but sometimes their actions seriously frustrated me, I have a love and hate relationship with them, but I am rooting for their love to work!
I need 20th May to be here already!!
I'm dead. Max Monroe is killing it with these books!
Turnabout is fair play in book 2 and boy, oh boy, Levi is getting right back what he dished out in Stone. Having come to the realization that Ivy is exactly the woman he needs in his life, Levi sets out to get back in her good graces after their explosive and hurtful screaming match that ended Stone. Ivy is hurt and she's distrustful and she's on emotional overload from trying to be the best Grace she can for the movie. What does that combination get you? You guessed it boys and girls more angst (and the heavens sing!!!) These two have chemistry that is electric and it's uncontainable, it just seeps off the pages. One of my favorite things about this book is the huge step it took towards romantic suspense. Yes, there is a mystery here and I'm throwing out theories left and right as to what's actually going on and who's behind it which just adds another layer of enjoyment on an already enjoyable story. And then, THEN, you fall right off a cliff. Yep. But I'm not mad about it because that just makes me want Fox even more. Bring it, you evil wenches! I am so ready for May 20th.
The ending will leave in in shock and clamoring for the final book, Fox. This whole series has been a departure from the usual story that Max Monroe writes but wow have they done an awesome job! Everyone needs to read this book/series. It is fabulous!
Levi came to his senses too late in the first book, Stone. His tortured past made him push Ivy away, but by the end of the book, he realized that he needs Ivy to feel. Enter part two,Cold.
Cold picks up just a short time after Stone ends. Levi has a lot of work to do to get himself out of the dog house, not just with Ivy, but with her twin sister, Camilla, too. And boy does he work. But honestly, Ivy still manages to push his buttons and bring out all of the hard edges in Levi.
I'm glad that Ivy makes Levi work for forgiveness. She's got her defenses up, and rightfully so after how he treated her in Stone. I just wish that they got even just a couple of weeks of Happy before the drama kicked back up a notch. And holy, drama, Batman!
Max Monroe delivered a solid second act. Well written, full of emotion, and it leaves you wanting more. It's going to be a long month until the 3rd part, Fox, is released. If you are not a fan of cliffhangers and multiple part series that don't have a self-contained HEA, wait until all 3 of the books are released to get them so you can binge them all together. But rest assured, these books are a must-read for fans of romantic suspense/mystery, and fans of Max Monroe's rom-coms will not be disappointed.
