This starts well, highlighting the hypocrisy in senior ranks of the Catholic Church. Condemning homosexuality while being ‘in the closet’ and not acting on the great sin of clerical child sex abuse. But this is a point that is made and then there are many many pages making the same argument. A good editor would have helped this book.
I don’t know why I was shocked at the content in this book, as you know that homosexuality pervades every section of civilisation. I think it was the extent of the homosexual lives that was so widespread and the corruption that came with living such a “secretive” life. The Catholic Church has a lot to answer to. A hard road for Francis and his successors to stamp our such a hedonistic culture that has belonged to the church for hundreds of years.
