Another histe. This time it's back to Venumhold. A good crew of characters, classic D&D. We learn more about the Shadow Agents the Elven nobles use and disturbingly their fate. We also get a glimpse of nastier things to come. I enjoyed this entry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read! 19 April 2017

I really like this author, though I wish he'd have it proofread a bit better. Some grammatical things here & there - you can kinda tell that it is the writing thought process, like he changed a sentence, but didn't quite backspace enough, or left a word or two out.
If you are reading this series first, you should definitely check out his "Ghost" series. It's great, and if you're a voracious reader like me - there are nearly 20 books and several short stories.
Very interesting alternative history type story. Badass female heroine, magic, danger, vengeance, and some tragic love in the mix.

Another Day, Another Heist, another mission impossible with monsters with big bad claws. The Cloak Games series works for me as it always gives a nice self contained story arc, with... well a finale shockingly, which is sadly lacking in many series these days. At the same time the overall narrative, character and world development continue with each book seamlessly integrated into the plot.
5.0 out of 5 stars Smart Mouth Wizardess & Her Awesome Posse 16 January 2017

This whole series is a wonderful romp through magic, mayhem and smart-mouthery. When you find yourself laughing out loud at the dialogue and devouring the book like candy, you know you have a winner. In fact, knowing what Moeller does for a living, I'd give this an A+ Certification! Every time you think Nadia Moran had seen her last spell-casting day, something unexpected happens and she survives the unthinkable. The banter between her and the shadow hunter is superb. (Not to mention the Knight of Grayhold) Nadia might be short, but most certainly not short on bravery. As for her Mage-breaker master, well, he just performed 'satisfactorily' in comparison.
I await the next one, "Truth Chain" with bated breath.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 5th Book 8 December 2016

Another great addition to the series. I always enjoy how Jonathan Moeller's main characters use their wits (and sarcastic mouths) get out of tough, if not impossible, situations. Can't wait to see Nadia's advancement (hopefully more magic talent(s)!) in the next book. I will keep stalking his website for the next Ghost or Cloak Games book news.

As always I love his work I finish a book and I cringe at the thought of having to wait for the next one.
