I've enjoyed the second book more than the first probably because I know most of the main characters now, and look forward to what is happening as each chapter changes from one person to another. I have started book 3 and look forward to seeing where this book goes, who survives till the end of the book and who doesn't

I don't read a lot of fiction so for me it's a bit hair raising with all that is going on. You don't know what's going to happen next and I've got right into it. If you're a bit desensitised from reading a lot of this sort of thing, you might feel it was a bit boring and repetitive. My wife suggested I read it before watching the TV series but warned me it departs from the book. The TV series and movies always do. I'm certainly glad I don't live in Westeros!

I loved this book with its wildly flamboyant characters and devious intertwining plot lines. George RR Martin has to be one of the best storytellers around these days. The cast of characters is huge but each one is so well developed that it's easy to keep track of who is who. A wonderfully written series.

I really enjoyed this episode of the series, do not really enjoy the way George Martin. Insist on breaking up each chapter with the different characters, as i feel this bit erupts the flow of the story, but that said I am completely hooked on these tales of fire and ice
