I started this book via audio, and had to change to my Kindle to read it because the lady doing the reading on the audio just kind of irritated me and I felt like I wasn't able to get into the story properly.
Anyway, once I started to read this book I really got into it.
Zoey is a Collector for the DMG (Department of Molecular Genetics) and her partner is Daniel. As Collectors, her and Daniel hunt and capture Fae. To her, Fae are nothing but evil parasites who feed off humans for their own pleasure. Daniel is her senior by nearly 20 years but she is madly in love with him. She has spent a long time trying to convince him they'd be good together, but for some reason he never relents and keeps things professional. Zoey absolutely hates all Fae, except one evening her life takes a huge turn and she is unwittingly saved by a Fae after experiencing a huge heartbreak.
This book was so good I went straight onto the 2nd in the series. I usually give 4 stars for books I really love, and only give 5 for those exceptional and stellar reads. So, the reason why I gave this 3 stars even though I did enjoy it was mainly because of something very nit-picky.....the author used just way too many similes and I found it distracted me from the flow of the book. But, like I said it's just me being picky.
