Product Description

A boy looked in a window, to see a naughty show
Through the pane of pain, the master clown did blow
The circus is a holy tent, the keeper of my rhyme
Where I forged my chains, creating this pantomime
Pretending to be normal, I wait until after dark
Then I paint the frown on, get a whore from the park
At the bottom of that bed was a darling in a chest
She watched with big eyes, horror hooking her from rest
She dances for the maniac, twirling on her strings
I will make her mine, sharing damaged things
I will be her riddle, she will help me grin
So why does she run away, she has to let me in
No one loves the clown, not even the midget
We’ve gone too far, she will know my secret
Love can break the hardest mask, I know this to be true
Nightmares have hearts too, I only needed you

I love the Dark and Distrburded mind of A Giannoccaro and I read all of her books but with Cirque Act 1 she has delved into her dark soul and produced an amazing psychological thriller in Cirque.

Clowns do not normally scare me but I do believe if I met "The Clown" I would want to run for the hills.
Sivan fights daily with his inner self to be the man everyone knows him to be but deep down he struggles daily with his secrets, secrets that will make him an outcast.

Sivan's sister, Samantha, is self absorbed and an attention seeking person. She herself is on her own destructive path and I am keen to know more about her.

Imogene is a shy smiling girl, or is she?

Last but not least there is Gavin, Sivan's best mate and business partner. He is also keeping secrets and seems to be a wolf in sheeps clothing, so yes I'm intrigued.

Ashleigh has really stepped away from her usual style of writing and has introduced us to an AMAZING story with Cirque. I'm loving all of the characters so far and they have all established a fantastic and intriguing story line. I am sure Act 2 is going to be spectacular.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!! 18 October 2016

Do you love clowns? Almost everyone hates them.
As for me, I love clowns... And after this book I think I love them even more. You see... I have a dark soul, and the book I just read is so sick and twisted about a clown it was just fabulous!

First, I have to say that the cover is AMAZING!!!!!!
Camilo Alvaraz is extra evil in it, and I keep on hoping he will lift his head up and will have one of those devilishes smiles.
This book is more twisted than dark, even though there are plenty of dark motives in it.
Sivan, the leading male character is a very introverted guy. He owns a construction company with his best friend, Gavin. His abusive father died a few years back, and he visits his mother quite seldom.
There is a reason for Sivan's behavior, he has a secret. A very big one!
When he was a teenager, he watched a circus show, then went secretly backstage following the clown, and witnessed a rough sex scene the clown was having. He was captivated by it, and it was engraved so hard in his memory, that he strived and aimed all his life to be that clown... Only secretly.
The plot begins at the family dinner when his younger sister, Samantha, brings her friend, Imogene, to dinner too.
Imogene, a beautiful girl who was born in a circus and lived the circus life with her mother until her powerful father took her away by force at the age of 11 to live a normal life. She has the circus spirit in her, and is performing with Samantha with an underground cirque at a burlesque. She also, holds so many dark secrets from her past life in the circus.
Sivan is mesmerized by her, and what started from all the wrong reasons, became something solid and beautiful. BUT!! they both hold on to their secrets too tight. Secrets which threaten to rip them apart.
Would you be willing to share your secret with your loved ones? Do you share a bond so strong for them to accept it? Or will it cut you open to bleed out.
Once you bare your soul to others.. There is no way to turn back.

I loved the writing, it was flowing. The plot was structured wonderfully.
The characters are so well written, you can actually relate to them.
There are not much sex scenes and the story is perfect just this way.
There are so many emotions combined in this story, the supporting characters are great. The ending was a surprise, although I saw it coming the last line in the story gave it a nice twist.

5.0 out of 5 stars I ♥ Sivan + Immogene 12 October 2016

I hate clowns with all that I am but everyone was talking about how great this book was so I threw caution to the wind. SO glad I did. Sivan creeped me out at first but as the story went on I found myself actually loving him and feeling sorry that he couldn't be who he wanted. Then came Immogene. She was just as big a mess as Sivan and with all their baggage, they were the perfect couple. He loved the circus and she was in the circus (kind of) , sounds like hook line and sinker right? Wrong! You really really REALLY need to read this! I promise there s so much more going on on this book than I talked about and you will love every minute of this twisted love story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kinky doesn't begin to describe this... 20 September 2016

Hmmm…..when I started to read „Cirque Act 1“ by Ashleigh Giannoccara my first thought was that I want to run away to the circus. As I read on, that changed into me wanting to run away to Sivan’s circus. And that notion still stands.
Let me say that I will never look at clowns the same way again and it’s all the author’s fault.

This book was something else. Original, kinky, creepy and it messed with my head fiercely at times. But I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy it. That would be a lie.
I can’t say a lot without giving too much away and I don’t want to do it, because Sivan’s story needs to be experienced firsthand. There are many surprising twists and turns and quite a few moments that made my jaw hit the floor. Some things I just didn’t see coming.
When I first read the blurb, I expected the story and Sivan to be darker, though I’m positively surprised that it wasn’t. What was definitely dark were some of the flashbacks. They were as dark and disturbing as night and I liked that Giannoccara didn’t go into gruesome detail. There was enough details to make me hurt with the character, but not so much that I feel like I need therapy. The balance was perfect and I really like that nothing seemed to be in the story just for shock value. Everything had its place and purpose.
Including the interconnection between all the characters, their issues and the story. It was an intricate web of who is connected how to whom and what effect one little action will have on everyone else. I loved to see the domino effect in action, more often than not caused by Sivan’s sister Sam, who drove me batshit crazy, despite me knowing that she has issues on her own. I still wanted to slap her to the moon and back.

There were two things though that bothered me about this book. For one, I felt like something was missing when it came to Sivan and Imogene. Besides the obvious connection, I still don’t know what they like about each other, what makes them possibly fall in love, what makes their relationship tick. It’s clear it is more than sexual attraction or kink, but it’s not clear what. I would’ve loved to find out more on that.

The other thing was the editing. There were typos, commas and words missing, while in other places there were too many words. It was distracting at times.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to Act 2 in order to find out what happens next. And to see if maybe someone does slap Sam to the moon and back…

4 never-thought-a-clown-could-be-sexy stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars What did I just read?! 8 October 2016

Sweet mother of all things holy. What in the world did I just read?! It's been a couple of weeks since I finished this book and I am still trying to figure out how I enjoyed such a weird, twisted story. This book isn't in my norm even if I read almost everything out there. This. Well, I don't even know where to start on this. I have to admit the cover is what drew me in. I've read this author before and her take on stories is unique and I knew as soon as I saw this cover this story would be different than anything I had ever read. I just wasn't expecting how different. Or even how creepingly (is that even a word?) amazing it would be. There were times I wanted to shut my kindle off but I just couldn't do it. I HAD to find out what happened. And now I NEED to know what happens in Act II.

The characters in this book ALL have issues to deal with and Giannoccaro weaves all their stories pretty seamlessly to make sure they work with the storyline but also help keep it going. I have always felt that secondary characters are just as important to a good storyline as the main characters and this author has done a great job of proving my point. I mean, don't get me wrong, the main characters are what drive this story with so many twists, turns and coincidences that nothing that happened was not well thought out by the author.

If you are looking for something dark, twisted and way out of your norm then I highly recommend this book. I cannot wait for Act II and i will be patiently, okay not patiently, waiting for it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Twisted and Kinky Story!! 19 September 2016

I just loved Cirque Act 1 by Ashleigh Giannnoccaro. It doesn't just draw you in. It grabs you right from the prologue and immerses you into this slightly dark, super twisted and kinky story!

"...none of these people would accept who I am when the sun sets and the world goes dark. No one likes clowns, no one accepts those who are different to them; I know that better than most."

It felt like magic, the way the author seemed to manipulate my feelings, love and sympathy for these characters. They were not, ultimately very lovable characters, but I loved them just the same and cannot wait to read more from this author!

"Nothing is ever all shining lights and glitter, even when we don’t see it there is darkness, a bad side of the coin."
