The color is great - much easier to spot in long grass than other colours. The ball also floats, so can be played with in water.
Other than that ChuckIt balls are some of the highest quality out there, with a strong Latex smell to help pups distinguish what they are allowed to chew.
As with all natural rubbers, it will perish if left in the sun for extended periods, but otherwise should last as long as any other.
Highly recommended for dogs that are irresponsible when it comes to their toys!

Fantastic balls! Until the end of May this year, we'd had the same two balls since 4 September 2016. During those 9 months they had been thrown, chased, caught, bounced on concrete surfaces, and chewed, yet they were still in 'as new' condition. In March I wrote "I don't know how the manufacturer makes money because they are truly virtually indestructible". And two months later I lost one! I threw it into the sea in Cornwall, for Polly to retrieve, and the tide took it away. We still have one of the originals, plus two new ones - ordered the night it was cast out to sea, because my ball maniac could not do without it (we'd left one at home 300 miles away). These balls are more at risk of loss than splitting or being chewed into pieces. Love them.
I have a ball-crazy Staffy. She constantly brings balls to me hoping I’ll play with her, and throws them around by herself if I won’t. She trashes a tennis ball in 2 minutes - pulling the fluffy fabric off, splitting it in half down the seam, and then chewing it to pieces. So tennis balls were banned, as were all dog balls bar the hard solid rubber ones….. but, although not a chewer normally, she does chew her way through them if left to play alone with one. Her teeth just sink into them, and I find little bits everywhere. The solid rubber balls are heavy, and I can't throw them far. They strain my neck, shoulder, and elbow, when I launch them with a thrower. Also, they are too hard and heavy for Polly to catch from a height or a distance, and I’m always afraid they’ll dislocate her jaw when catching them from a height.
Her ‘friends’ have different Chuckit balls (whistlers, rebounders, and glow balls, which don’t float) and, whilst looking to buy her a set of these, I came across these Ultra balls - which looked far better for my dog. I read some of the 1300+ reviews for the Ultra balls, and I must say I was sceptical about them being virtually indestructible in a Staffy’s jaws. But, we’ve had them for two weeks now, played with them daily, and they are absolutely amazing - so far!
Within minutes, on the day they arrived, I heard one of them squelching as she brought it back to me and my heart sank. I thought she had punctured it already, but then I discovered the secret of this amazing ball, and what makes it almost indestructible. There’s a tiny hole, in a groove, which allows the ball to squash between the teeth/jaws, pushing the air out, and preventing the teeth from penetrating its strong textured rubber. The squelching was Polly's slobber, in the hole. Amazing!
I’m over the moon with these balls. Initially I thought they were rather expensive for a dog ball, but now I don’t begrudge a penny of their cost. The medium size seems to fit all types of standard sized launchers. I’ve owned dogs (as an adult) for over 40 years - three of which were Staffies - and I’ve never before been able to go out and leave my dog at home alone with a ball to occupy itself, without it being destroyed. In a short time, these balls will more than pay for themselves. I’m paranoid about losing them (as they are so bouncy) but, in the event that we do, I won’t hesitate to replace them with the same. They've given us so much pleasure already.

***Edit:- It is now February 2017 and both these balls are still totally in tact and are still his favourite balls.
first things first dont let the pictures fool you, what i have is not two jack Russell's, no no they are two destroying machines!
all of the toys i have bought for them have been destroyed in a matter of minutes.
i purchased these thinking they might last a bit longer than 5 minutes, its now been about a month and they are still going strong! and it seems they will last a very long time.
if you also have dogs that like to break everything i highly recommend you try these
Well I gave her a chuck it this morning and even after a full day there is no mark on it! She settled down for a chew right away, but when she couldn’t get into it has started to play with it. She loves how bouncy it is and has been spending time picking it up in her mouth, jumping on the sofa and dropping it off the edge so she can chase it again. Behaviour we have not seen with other balls!
Only time will tell how long it lasts but we are already winning in my estimation (it’s definitely lasted longer than the packaging..!
UPDATE: Had this ball for very nearly a month now and it is still going strong. She loves it and it is played with every day. She seems to love the fact that it deflates a little so, in her mind, she's getting close to destroying it.....but she wont! Couldn't be more made up with this ball. An excellent purchase. I have attached a photo as I know people like to see the ball in action and also so they can see the size.
Great product, and I definitely recommend.
I finally got fed up losing tennis balls so decided to get some other colours - but tennis balls for tennis are always the standard colour. So if you want other colours you need to buy dog balls such as these.
I bought a two-pack of these for about £8. Also for £8 I got a four-pack of Chuckit "furry" balls (i.e. same as tennis balls except orange). The latter got pretty dingy because they soak up mud. All four of the furry ones got lost in the space of a few weeks (not by me - by my housemates, who seem a lot less careful. Maybe because they didn't pay for them???). I lost one of these ultra balls too - but only because I threw it in a river. So if you want balls that remain vi-viz I recommend these.
They cost a LOT more than cheap tennis balls - but in the long run are worth it. (If they were cheaper I would give 5 stars)
PS. My dog is a real chewer. I haven't put these to the chew test - I keep them out of his way at home, just for retrieving in the park. Having said that they do seem pretty tough.
These smaller size balls are comfortable for carrying in the mouth for small to sheltie size dogs.
They are easy to find as they don't blend into the green grass like most balls.
Washable, which is great as the dogs love to bite down on them.
The children love playing with them as they have a good bounce to them and they keep their shape.
I would recommend them, they are great fun for all of us.
I hope this review was helpful to you.
The quality of this product is incredible, and if i could double the stars, this is very well deserving of it!
If like me, have spent a fortune on tennis balls and other types, only to be destroyed and torn apart within minutes.
Until i found these. Having bought the first one about 2 months ago (still in perfect condition) the ball still remains intact!
And Chico absolutely loves them, because they are quite chewy, but cant get into them, so he spends endless time huddled in the corner somewhere munching on them.
Also gives me a break from constantly wanting to play.
No idea how that works, but i do know THEY LAST!
So much so, i decided to buy a whole bunch of them for Chico to go crazy with and crazy he goes when i take him to the park and use all of them hehe, loves it!
I think the pictures speak for them selves how happy Chico is with his new lasting toy.
Thank you very much, one very happy customer :-)
The ball is a solid item, the same size as a standard tennis ball but far more robust and resilient to chewing. It’s a heavier item too, so will keep rolling further when you’ve given it a good welly. If you pair it with a decent launcher (I have the Chuckit Ultra Grip Medium) it’ll just fly for ages. If you’ve got an active breed then this is an absolute must in your arsenal.
Update: I swear by Chuck-it balls. Our 11 month old Border Collie is the destroyer of toys, bringer of ball armageddon. At any one time there are half a dozen balls littering the floor of our house that people have bought her. Some last a few days, some last a few weeks. All will meet their doom.
Except Chuck-it balls. Every one we have bought has survived (except their generic tennis ball that came free with a ball launcher) and is still going strong. We have several different ones, the very best being the Ultra ball but also the glow-in-the-dark and the loud squeaker version.
Storm the God of destruction has not ruined any.
