About the authors
Jaleta Clegg was born some time ago. She's filled the years since with many diverse activities, such as costuming, quilting, cooking, video games, reading, and writing. She's been a fan of classic sci-fi books and campy movies since she can remember. Her collection of bad sci-fi movies is only rivaled by her collection of eclectic CD's (break out the disco accordion polka folk music, please!).
The Fall of the Altairan Empire space opera series starts with Nexus Point. All eleven books are available. Find updates and a complete list of titles at www.altairanempire.com
Links to her stories can be found at www.jaletac.com
Jaleta wants to be either Han Solo or Ursula the Sea Witch when she grows up. If she ever does.
She loves teaching kids of all ages about stars, constellations, nuclear fusion, space travel, mythology, writing, and rocks. She volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America among other groups. She was even on her local library board for a while. She believes in teaching people to think for themselves and to be self-sufficient. It's self-serving, though. Kids who know how to do housework, laundry, and cooking give her more time for writing.
She also detests referring to herself in the third person, but sometimes she bows to necessity.
Alexa Kang is an author of WWII and 20th century historical fiction. Her works include the novel series "Rose of Anzio", an epic love story that begins in 1940 Chicago and continues on to the historic Battle of Anzio in Italy; and the "Shanghai Story" trilogy, a saga chronicling the events in Shanghai leading up to WWII and the history of Jews and Jewish refugees in China. Her current work, the "Nisei War Series", is a collection of stories about second-generation Japanese-Americans in war situations around the world during WWII. Alexa's other works include the WWII/1980s time-travel love story "Eternal Flame" (a tribute to John Hughes), as well as various short stories, including those in the fiction anthologies "The Darkest Hour" (a USA Today Bestseller"), "Pearl Harbor and More: Stories of December 1942", "Christmas in Love", and "Wartime Christmas Tales".

Part 1: Romance
A Tale of Two Magis - a couple who have to spend Christmas separately decide to surprise their other half. I liked the twist.
I’ll Be Home For Christmas - a GI is determined to get home for Christmas & the girl he meets on the journey home. A twist to this historical tale.
The Christmas Package - a widower turns down an invitation to spend Christmas Eve with his brother’s family. What will make him change his mind?
Green Christmas - two little girls have been extra good this Christmas, but will Santa bring them what they really want - their father home for Christmas? I didn’t like this tale as much.
Mistletoe - instead of the Christmas bonus a man was hoping to receive, he gets a gift voucher. How’s he going to save Christmas for his kids? Sweet, but I didn’t like it all that much.
The Best Gift - what would you be willing to do for the love of your life?
Just Marie - not a romance, but a Christmas story about family, & a mother’s wish to just do something for herself.
The Wrong Idea - I don’t think I understood this, nor can I see how it could be a Christmas story. A man pauses at a jewellers window, but his friends warn him unless he’s thinking of proposing, he should be careful in case his girlfriend gets the wrong idea.
Part 2: Fantasy
The Sugar Plum Fairy’s Rescue - the Sugar Plum Fairy is missing & it’s up to Christmas Rose to find her. With Sugar Plum’s son, Pine, they rescue the fairy from the top of a Christmas tree! I liked this story.
Entertaining Unawares - a teenager brings his slightly older friend home for dinner, much to his father’s annoyance.
The Ice Bridge - this is an exciting short story about a “girl” “shapeshifter”, who tries to save children from an orphanage with her brother Jack Frost’s help. It ends in a cliffhanger!
Naughty or Nice? - this one was about a cheeky Eros (God of Love) standing in for Santa when Santa was ill. Eros misunderstood the “filling of stockings”
A (Somewhat) Silent Night - a security guard working alone on Christmas Eve in a museum gets a surprise.
The Dad Bureau - a dad’s desperate attempt to keep his family together. I did not get this (especially the ending). Not a happy story, & a bit abrupt/ cliffhanger.
Part 3: Science Fiction
Happy Diversidays - a man returns to Earth after many years away, & immediately falls foul of the laws that surround Christmas traditions.
Angelica - this is a very dark Christmas story about the Angel of Death, spreading “Angel Dust”. I didn’t like this.
Wings of an Angel - quite liked this story of an orphan boy believes he’s seen a Christmas Angel, but the Angel says he’s not an Angel.
Part 4: Horror
Blood Song - a twist on the traditional Father Christmas tale. Dwarves (instead of elves) & Wookis demand the local villagers give them a blood offering. Instead they’re offered something else instead. Something quite different. I liked this story.
