Product Description

Christmas at the Gingerbread Café is a lovely, cheery festive read, a good old-fashioned feel-good romance’ – Books with Bunny

The icing on her Christmas cake!

Christmas is the season the Gingerbread Café in Ashford, Connecticut was made for…but owner Lily couldn’t be feeling less merry if she tried. She’s spent another year dreaming of being whisked away on a sleigh-ride for two, but she’s facing festive season alone – again. And, just to give her another reason to feel anything other than candy-cane perky, a new shop across the road has opened… Not only is it selling baked goods, but the owner, with his seriously charming smile, has every girl in town swooning.

But Lily isn’t about to let her business crumble — the Gingerbread Café is the heart of the community, and she’s going to fight for it! This could be the Christmas that maybe, just maybe, all her dreams – even the someone-to-decorate-the-Christmas-tree-with ones – really do come true!

While it wasn't the sort of book I would normally expect to enjoy so much, I was engrossed from the very beginning. The setting, the atmosphere and the characters were all easily visualised in my mind. By the end, I had marked passages, shed tears and wanted more. Lily and Damon were totally believable. I've already pre-ordered Book 2. 5 Stars and 2 Thumbs Up!

A short and sweet small-town Christmas romance with just a hint of spice. Or a case of Christmas War and Peace, seeing as Lil and Damon start off effectively in a business war reminiscent of a Meg Ryan film, You've Got Mail.

Beautifully written characters who are only after a second chance at love...and you can't help but hope they get it.

As all the sweet, Christmas treats are described in this book, it makes you want to taste all of them...a recipe book to accompany this series would be wonderful. But I'm perfectly happy to continue to read the other books in this series first - the mysteries of gingerbread coffee can wait.

Five stars.

I brought this book because of the cover last year and had a blast reading it. From memory, I extended my breakfast for two extra coffees just to finish the story in one sitting.

Lily and Damon's story is hilarious. And it made me feel so hungry after reading all those food descriptions.

The secondary characters are brilliant and Ms. Raisin's writing feels like a warm fuzzy blanket. If you want a read that will help you escape for a little while, this is the one for you.

This novella is the perfect story to finish in one sitting, especially if you struggle for reading time. The characters are particularly lovable, Rebecca manages to take you right into their hearts within the first couple of pages, and the plot moves along at just the right pace.

This is the perfect Christmas story to get you in the mood, and such a beautiful cover, how could you say no?
