Kyra Halland has always loved fantasy. She has also always loved a good love story. Years ago, as a new stay-at-home mom, she decided to combine those two loves - like chocolate and peanut butter! - by writing the kinds of romantic fantasy novels she wanted to read. Complicated, honorable heroes; strong, smart, feminine heroines; magic, romance, and adventure; deep emotion mixed with a dash of offbeat humor - all of these make up Kyra Halland's worlds. She loves sharing those worlds with readers and hopes they will enjoy her stories and characters as much as she does. Kyra Halland lives in southern Arizona. She has a very patient husband, two less-patient cats, two young adult sons, a lovely daughter-in-law, and an adorable granddaughter. Besides writing, she enjoys scrapbooking and anime, and she wants to be a crazy cat lady when she grows up.

Chosen of Azara takes you to another land were there are Sources of power that keep nature in balance and other things as well. Man and his wars are threatening Juzeva's land of Azara, so a marriage to a foreign prince has been arranged to hopefully save her land. However, that plan fails and Azara is destroyed and Juzeva is forced to flee for her life and that of her unborn child. Golus, priests of some very ungodly religion are pursuing her for the crystal container around her neck that has the Source material in it that can bring life back to Azara. Juzeva is a very strong individual and goes to extraordinary lengths to protect her daughter and the Source's gift. This is an epic fantasy story, so it takes place over several generations of characters and even more years, because of the magic of the Sources. In the end, it is Juzeva's great-granddaughter, Lucie, and Juzeva's cousin, Sevry, who fight off the golus and try to bring life back to Azara. They face many dangers and obstacles along the way, but determination and love and the Source's magic all work together for good.
