This small book provides brief paragraphs on the results of some 101 studies. If one is interested in actual statistical results, this book provides minimal information. For example, neither statistical nor clinical significance is presented. And if statistical results are given these are not absolute, but relative and include few baseline figures. If one is interested in Numbers Needed to Treat or Absolute benefit, this book offers little help. Also, I am now somewhat skeptical of some of the single sentence conclusions this author draws. This is because, I reviewed some the actual papers cited and felt that this author overstates the papers conclusions. The actual papers contained several caveats and conclusions that the author does not mention.

However, I find the book useful because it actually cites the research studies. As a quick reference this is very useful. This allows someone interested in obtaining more information the opportunity to go to the source - for that the book is worthwhile to me.

This is the most recent of dozens of books I've read about heart disease recently, It provides a comprehensive look at the medical literature that takes issue with everything we have come to believe is true in terms of being the causes of heart disease. Read it for yourself. It is time well spent. Some big money is being made on prescriptions for statins that are actually detrimental to health, so it benefits big pharma if we stay ignorant. Decide for yourself.

When I first saw this book I assumed I would not be able to understand "scientific papers" as I have no scientific knowledge (aside from gr. 12 biology, 25 yrs ago), but the studies were explained so well and strung together so well, they were easy and enjoyable to read.

I was blown away by the evidence contrary to the typical eat-low-fat-for-your-heart medical advice, I especially enjoyed Chapter 5, "Comments by Eminent Professors and Doctors" (leading experts on the subject of cardiovascular disease), the glossary, and Appendix 3 which provided quick summaries of one or two lines of each of the studies.

After my father who was slender and had low cholesterol, died of a heart attack, my vegetarian/whole foods mom got a brain aneurysm and my young, fit husband developed a heart condition, I began a research quest and started to question all I knew for certain about diet and health. This led to my adoption of a low carbohydrate, real food lifestyle which has greatly improved my health. Reading this book provided me with the evidence behind my intuitive and physical experience of ridding myself of the fear of eating natural fat. I will be passing it out to each of my friends who asks me why I am not afraid of clogging my arteries. It was reassuring and it is a great accessible resource. (I will be buying a few more copies to give to my doctors as well).

This book is just the information/ammo I needed to show people the TRUTH about cholesterol and fats. There are 108 scientific papers that are cited in this ebook but it just gives you the summary of what the long-winded research was about. Then it gives you the 'take-away' from that research. Easy to read and to explain to others. Thank you for writing this book!
