For the Akkadians, it’s a matter of survival. For everyone else, it’s surviving the Akkadians. The Akkadians demonstrate they are masters of subterfuge, deception, manipulation, planning and improvisation. A very deadly combination of skills. With well placed, deeply imbedded agents, they are able to manipulate the Alliance seemingly at will. The Akkadians stole much of the Alliance’s initial chiral discoveries. Now, they are stealing key Alliance research resources to jump start their own chiral weapons programs.
Our Alliance heroes race to recover deadly chiral virus samples, disrupt the weaponization program and thwart an assassination. The inadvertent release of a weaponized, chiral virus is devastating. Even with the aid from a very unlikely source, the Alliance always seems to be a step behind the Akkadians. The aid brings a short-term benefit, but what are the long-term costs? The Akkadians have shown they play the long-game exceedingly well.
A great read, I’m looking forward to the next book.
There’s plenty of hard science fiction along with the mystery aspects of the story. The second book was very engaging going on to read the last in the trilogy.
I still don't think I'de invite some of them to a holiday party where food or drink might be poisoned but, you never know.
