About the Author

Frances Housden lives in New Zealand - a beautiful country not so very different from Scotland, where she was born. I have to start this by saying that I loved book 1 the chieftain's curse, but was very disappointed by this book. It seem like it was thrown together quickly and not as much though put into it as the previous books. It was short and no details to build the story, the one excite scene in the story was not very exciting. Not sure if the authoe was rushed by the editor to get the book completed and published like they do when previous book are a success but more time should have been spent building the story.

Jamie had a reputation with the ladies, but that all ended when he met Eve, and despite the betrayal of his first love, he hoped things with Eve would be different, but they were barely hand-fasted when her father discovered them and took Eve away. With no word from Eve, Jamie feared he was betrayed once again by love, until he and his friends found Eve’s near frozen body in the snow, as if she had been trying to reach him. This is a sweet story built around misunderstandings of past and present, and with the guilt that plagued Jamie over his failure to act in the past, it was great to see him find something that meant enough to him to make him stand his ground. Great holiday-themed story. I hope Rob’s story is next! Great series!

I do enjoy this author. I am looking forward to Robs story. Perhaps Nahaiam should have a story. Some of the verbiage can throw you off but a glossary is available at the beginning of the book!

Frances writes story's that make you believe in romance and hunger for more. I missed the guys from Chieftain by Command, Rob and Nhaimeth and was glad to see them here standing by their friend Jamie. The holiday setting was great considering it's the holiday season. And the McArthur taking charge and having it all out on the table, perfect. I would and do recommend this book.
