I admit, this was an accidental purchase. I hit "try a sample" but for some reason it bought it for me. That's never happened before, and I was going to return it.....but my 4 year old does love Chester.
This is a super sweet but sad story about dealing with loss. Chester's squirrel friend had an accident apparently, which made my 4 year old very upset. After we finished the story though, he liked how they made and talked about memories they had with the squirrel. This is a must have if you are trying to explain loss to a child.
These are amazing books!! My kids love them so much and can never get enough of them!! They are great quality too and have great stories and pictures. Would recommend them to every one!! And great for younger kids!!
Just got this book. Excellent story but my book was covered in waxy dirty stuff. So disgusted. I bought this to put in an elementary school library where a classmate had passed away. Not fit for that at all. What a waste of my money!

Have several Chester books to read to my grandchildren. The illustrations are beautiful, with so much detail and color. The subject matter is delicately handled with tenderness and easy for little ones to understand. Have not found any other author who tackles difficult subjects with so much grace and love.
