Product Description

  • CHASING SUSPECT THREE is the 4th novel in this popular women sleuths mystery romance series.
~ Clients don't just hire her, they turn her loose ~ Sandy Reid, the assertive young criminal defense attorney, finally lands her first big murder case and becomes convinced her client is lying about shooting her husband. Is she rushing to save an innocent woman or helping a killer get away with murder? The victim's sister, who amuses herself with predatory sex, happens to be a former girlfriend of Sandy's lover and wants him back in her life. Sandy finds herself questioning his faithfulness at the same time she's deciding whether to go too far with an FBI agent with movie-star looks who won't take no for an answer. Sandy's suspenseful search for the killer leads her away from her quiet Florida ocean side town and down to the tropical palms along Biscayne Bay, and the steamy streets of Miami that are dark with something more than the night in this romance-splashed mystery.

Each book in this female protagonist mystery series is a stand-alone novel following the exciting adventures of Sandy Reid:
  • One Deadly Sister
  • The Price of Candy
  • Such Wicked Friends
  • Chasing Suspect Three
  • Alive After Friday
  • Into the Heat

3.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed the story and give it a 3-star rating 20 May 2015

CHASING SUSPECT 3, Book 4 of the Sandy Reid Mystery Series. I have now read all six of Rod Hoisington’s Sandy Reid series, albeit out of sequence. Chasing Suspect 3 does not rise to the level of the other five although it will keep you turning pages. The story takes place in the little town of Park Beach, Florida, where everyone knows your name and who you’re sleeping with. Sandy Reid passed the Florida bar and is looking forward to her first big murder trial as a full-fledged criminal defense attorney. However, she could not have picked a less promising first client than the certified dingbat, liar and confirmed flake, Margo Larena. Although difficult to prepare a defense for Margo, Sandy is determined to make it work. Her law partner, Martin Bonner, helps relieve her stress by picking up much of the legwork of running down leads and verifying statements. A criminal element out of Miami injects itself into the story making Sandy’s undercover investigating even more exciting and much more dangerous.
I enjoyed the story and give it a 3-star rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book 4 January 2013
By Yvonne - Published on Amazon.com

This series of books from Rod Hoisington is such a edge of your seat reading exerience. You have a clue in the beginning of this book what happens, but with all the twists and turns throughout this book, you wonder if Sandy is ever going to figure out her first criminal case? Every time Margo opens her mouth a different story comes out. When Claudia comes back to town, Sandy becomes crazed with jealousy. When she finds out Claudia is the sister of the man her client is guilty of murdering, and an old girlfriend of Chips, will she ever get to the bottom of it before it completely tears apart her world apart. When her associate and friend Martin tries to help her out, he finds himself in all kinds of trouble.

Mr. Hoisington's writing is so quick, and fast that I could not get myself to put this book down, and when I did, it was all I could think about.

I would recommend this series of books to anyone that enjoys great murder mysteries. I really hope that Mr. Hoisington continues to write more books with these characters. I can't wait to see what kind of trouble Sandy will get her self into next!!

5.0 out of 5 stars With the odds against her ... 16 November 2012

Sandy had been waiting for her first real criminal case since she passed the bar and when she found it, she had to fight to keep it. Once she had it, she had to overcome many obstacles to help her client, one of which being her client seemed to be a flake.
From the first page to the last, Mr. Hoisington kept me reading. Once I started the book, I didn't put it down until I finished it 3 hours later.
I look forward to Sandy's next adventure!

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect 4 June 2013

This is my second Sandy Reid tale. I read 'Deadly Sister', LOVED it and gave a review to that effect. 'Chasing Suspect Three' was just as much fun with one teensy, tinsy reservation. I found Sandy's angst about Chip's maybe/maybe not interest in the femme fatal to be overly protracted and a bit out of character for Sandy's reliably solid common sense judgement. I know, I know, it was part of the master confusion of clues and red herrings but it went on too long for me. That's not to say I won't be reading the other Sandy Reid adventures. Too juicy to miss and by now I have gotten familiar with the quirks of the cast of characters. I'm in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sandy is a Character! 6 March 2013

I, too, have read all four of Rod Hoisington "Sandy Reid" books, and can't decide which one I like best. They're all great with Sandy - gutsy, brassy, funny and sometimes quick to anger. She's also a good thinker. Sandy has that special talent of knowing what questions to ask - motivated by "why would such n such happen?" Also have enjoyed the same main characters in all four - makes you think you know them personally. The book does go off on an unrelated tangent (in my opinion) about midway through and I just "paged through" that section. As expected, a surprising ending one would not think of. Rod is certainly a gifted author.
