Review

A rip-roaring, page-turning adventure from beginning to end. Readers are going to love Garrett Sinclair, who reads like this generation's Jason Bourne. --Ryan Steck, The Real Book Spy

If you are looking for a good night's sleep, leave this one in the nightstand. --Jack Carr, New York Times bestselling author of Savage Son

A gripping, white-knuckle ride that will leave the reader looking for cover. --Simon Gervais, former RCMP counterterrorism officer and bestselling author of Hunt Them Down

General Tony Tata uses his experience to give us a glimpse into the fascinating world of military intrigue with a real human touch. --James O. Born, New York Times bestselling author

Chasing the Lion is a red hot thriller as timely as tomorrow's headlines. --Stephen Coonts

Garrett Sinclair is a powerhouse of a hero. --Mark Greaney, #1 New York Times bestselling author of One Minute Out

"Tata just keeps getting better and better, slowly but surely cementing his future as a thriller master. --Steve Berry, New York Times bestselling author of the Cotton Malone series

Tony Tata has written a white knuckle read that I dare you to put down. --Joel C. Rosenberg, New York Times bestselling author of The Last Jihad and The Jerusalem Assassin

Full of energy and snapping with action, Chasing the Lion is Tony Tata at his best. --Marc Cameron, New York Times bestselling author

In addition to providing fully fleshed-out characters, Tata transforms familiar elements, including an Iranian terrorist bent on revenge, a new bioweapon, corrupt public officials in high places, and a hero whose family is in jeopardy, in ways that are exciting and fresh. Military action fans will get their money's worth. --Publishers Weekly

[A] hybrid between Lee Child's "Jack Reacher," Clint Eastwood's "Dirty Harry," and Daniel Silva's "Gabriel Allon." ...General A.J. Tata (retired) proves to be a masterful storyteller, and weaves a convoluted, action packed narrative, brimming with authentic action sequences (as only told through the eyes of someone who actually has experienced the raw devastation of war). Tata expertly layers multidimensional characterizations onto both Sinclair and Parizad. The result is a riveting and deadly "cat and mouse" encounter that is truly cinematic and escalates into an exhilarating denouement...Hopefully further exploits of Garrett Sinclair will follow. --Mystery & Suspense

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - Hopefully a new Series!

Lieutenant General Garrett Sinclair is the United State’s Army’s top special forces commander. He is unique in that he participates in operations with his personal Joint Special Operations Command team, a team that he put together with the best of the best. Iran remains high in his list of enemies to the United States, whose leadership remain a constant threat.

General Qassem Soleimani is no longer the commander of Iran’s Quds Force. His assignation was ordered by a previous American president. His replacement is Dariush Parizad named by the ayatollah as the “Lion of Tabas.” Parizad is an even greater threat to America than was Soleimani. American intelligence has learned that Iran has developed a biochemical weapon for warfare. The weapon is known as “Demon Rain.” It is both a nerve agent and a drug that controls one’s mind. General Sinclair learns firsthand of the danger that this weapon could do to the United States, if it somehow was brought into the United States.

General Sinclair further discovers that that three-four senior government leaders are working with Parizad that would allow him to do a limited strike in the United States and in return, they would have an excuse to go to war with Iran and topple the present leadership. Dariush Parizad would then become the new leader of Iran. What Parizad is planning for the United States is significantly more deadly that those he is working with in Washington, D.C., believe.

“Chasing the Lion” is the 14th novel of author A.J. Tata. Author Tata is a retired U.S. Army Brigadier General. The reader immediately knows that author Tata knows what he is writing about. This reader also found this novel to be very timely, as events in America are moving quickly and there remain troubling signs that all might not be well. And as for the harm that “Demon Rain” could do worldwide, one simply needs to look at what Covid-19 has done. This is author Tata’s first novel featuring LTG Garrett Sinclair. For this reader, he most certainly hopes it will continue as a series!
