Product description

Product Description

On the day Taryn Smith turns eighteen, her life changes—and not just because she can now legally vote. A black-eyed man with a chilly aura accosts her, and a stilted breath later, she's abducted by a man who claims he’s a Manang; a half-man, half-angel being who lives in a world called Urian. Side note: he may or may not be insane.

Sent to a mansion in the middle of a grassy field surrounded by forest, and partnered with a black-haired, blue-eyed man with a surly nature who makes her heart spin, Taryn trains. For what, she doesn’t know. She's told she's someone special; a Charmed, and the key to winning in a battle of worlds about to collide. Only problem is, she can be a weapon of good, or a weapon of bad.

4.0 out of 5 stars I had this book for a long time, and just got around to reading it. 22 July 2015

Which is My Bad, since I really enjoyed it. Yes, it's a Teen/YA and I'm not. Yes, the World Building could have been better. Yes, I really didn't care much for the Heroine for most of the book. Yes, the writing could have been a little smoother. But the characters drew me in, the action scenes were good, and I found myself reading it non-stop to the very end. And although it was concluded nicely, it left me wanting to know more.

Unfortunately, when I looked for Book 2, it shows it (and this Book 1 as well) as currently unavailable. Figures--that's what I get for not reading it sooner. If I had, then I might have been able to purchase Book 2 before it became unavailable. I may be wasting my time with this review if it never comes back on the market. But if they do become available again, I would happily snatch up the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read this immediately! 17 February 2013

I got this book a couple weeks ago for my Kindle. It took interesting enough, so I put it up towards the top of my "TO READ" list (some books end up on the list for years). Finally, about a week after I got it, I decided to read it. It helped that I was heckled by Tawnya. I read the first paragraph and sighed - convinced I just got myself into some silly teen drama that I'd have to force myself to read. I'll admit, I put off reading the book for a couple days because of it. ...but then I started it. Actually started it.

One word to explain what happened once I passed page one: DAMN. That's right, I said it. I had to force myself to put the book down a few times, because I swear I stopped breathing in certain parts. (Lindy Zart is obviously trying to kill me, just want you all to know this)

All and all, it was a great story. Truly it was. I was able to get into the characters, and I liked them. They felt real.

This book is great. I started reading the sample, just trying to get a feel for the book. The synopsis kind of gives the impression that its like J.R. Ward's Fallen Angels series and I didn't want a copy cat book, but that was sooo wrong. This book is NOTHING like that. The synopsis does not do this book justice. When the sample ended, I was sooo sad! I ended up purchasing it then and there. This book really does hook you and drag you into this different world where Man-Angels are protecting our fate while a group of women have to fight to destroy evil. Really was a nice twist. Great job!

5.0 out of 5 stars'll need the next one right away! 3 March 2013

Lindy Zart's Charmed is a creative twist on the supernatural. There are hints and influences of some of our favorites but the author definitely owns her own story and draws the reader in.  Just when you think you know what's happening, you don't. The author writes in a way that flows for you and you don't even know you're reading- a story is just unfolding.  As soon as I was finished, I went on to the next book.
4.0 out of 5 stars Loved these characters 19 February 2013

Loved these characters, Taryn, Luke and feel for them through out the story and get emotionally involved in their lives and hope all ends well for each of them..I was torn between rooting for Creed and Taryn being together or having Taryn and Luke together. All the characters were well written and the story line very imaginative, the author goes great lengths in her writing getting the reader to feel part of the story. The good vs evil was well written and very creatively done...I won't say more to ruin the story but its a much recommended read.
