5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book 21 December 2013
By Nancy - Published on Amazon.com
Charlie Weatherburn and the Flying Machine is a wonderful book for young children and adults. It is very well written, so creative, and entertaining. The rhythmic text is so much fun to read aloud while the storyline keeps you interested until the end. At the end of the book you will learn that Charlie Weatherburn was a real person and a mathematician. He taught mathematics in Australia, New Zealand and England. The cartoon-style illustrations are excellent and they complement the story perfectly. The intriguing cover of the book caught my eye and made me want to read more. Overall, I was very much impressed by the quality of the book. I would recommend this book to everyone.

This book is written in a fun and clever way. The children and adults will appreciate the descriptions of this witty character- Charlie Weatherburn. Charlie loves math and through his experience of being swept by the wind, he decides to make wings to allow him to fly. His knowledge in math helps him with that. This book teaches history of an influential person in such a fun way! It is worth your time to read!

Great concept, great artwork, poorly implemented. The character fails and gives up, the end. Not want I want to share with my grandchildren.
