Product Description

Foster made a promise in his hospital bed when his leg was taken from him that he’d get back to one hundred percent. Leg or no leg, he’d get back on the SWAT team if it killed him.

And he does get back. But he has a problem.

He can’t let go of the past.

The anger burns deep, making his emotions volatile at the best of times.

Then he meets Blake with her haughty attitude and inability to distinguish the difference between a pocket knife and a sword.

Little by little, she makes him whole again, one bad joke at a time.

She doesn’t see the revenge in his eyes, though. Doesn’t see the rage burning deep.

Rage so pure and all encompassing, that he knows it’ll explode.

It’s just a matter of time.

What Foster doesn’t realize, though, is that the love that Blake has for him is enough to fight his demons, one kiss at a time.

Foster never stood a chance.

Not a bad read. Just not 100% my cup of tea.
Just got a little monotonous at points for me and eye-roll enducing. Know what I mean?
However, sex scenes... hot hot hot!
Will give this series another go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review from Abibliophobia Anonymous Book Reviews 4 September 2015

I couldn’t wait to read this book. I absolutely love Foster and think I love him even more now after reading his story! Thanks for making me cry three times while reading this.

Lani Lynn Vale is an absolute must read author for me. As soon as there is a sign up for a new release of hers, I’m signed up. No matter what. I haven’t been disappointed with any of her books.

You don’t have to read these in order, but I highly suggest you do. You’ll love them, I promise.

Foster lost his leg in the previous book. He has busted his butt to get back on the KDP Swat team though. If you thought losing a leg changed his life, it’s nothing compared to when a feisty woman came into the police station to yell at him for giving her grandpa a ticket.

Blake is the daughter of a cop and her uncle is the chief of police. She also just divorced a cheating douche, that’s also a cop. She doesn’t take crap though. I love her and she’s perfect for Foster.

Foster, damn boy, that’s all I have to say.

“Yea. I always f****** want you. It’s like a sickness in my brain. A disease that makes me only think of you and that hot juicy p**** of yours.”

That rose tattoo made me smile. My husband has one, in the exact same spot, for the exact same reason.

I think I want a Macaw now too. Boris had me laughing so much.

“Boom goes the dynamite.”

And all the other things that bird said.

Once again, the little thoughts at the beginning of each chapter where awesome.

“What’s she have that I don’t? A magic vagina that compliments the size of your micro penis?”

“Friendship is like p****** your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel its warmth. I want someone to be the p*** in my pants.”

This is a great read. One minute I was crying, but then the next paragraph would have me laughing.

I hated everything Blake went through though.

This is one of my favorite series.

I'm so totally in love with the amazing characters that this gifted author creates in every single story. Foster had some history that included wallbanging sex that almost ended up as negligent homicide by fornication.

Yea, pretty big man slut, that is what Foster was before his accident. I was happy to read that when the wall came down though the man slut hung up his bed hopping card. Then the terrifying accident came and Foster changed in more ways than one. This brave and amazing guy didn't let this keep him down.. He used it to make him stronger. That's not saying he wasn't worried that a woman might see him as less. But thankfully the woman that caught his eye and his heart was a spitfire that saw he was a man of Steel even before his leg was put on each day. Blake was probably the most vulnerable heroine Lani has written to date in my opinion. She felt like she had been abandoned after her cheating ex and the divorce that decided assets and friends. Even to the point of her mom picking sides.

This left her with a feeling of not being good enough. But Foster quickly showed her she was desirable and lovable. He wasn't perfect but even when he made the most stupid choices.. (certain neighbor he left to sit with Blake) he made up for it and sometimes a simple I'm sorry goes a long way. He replaced all those bad memories with good ones and brought amazing people into her life to be called her new family.

Of course the crazy family brought Lani's signature humor to the story and before I knew it I was totally lost in the story. One of my favorite characters in this story was not a person..but he didn't know that.

“Boom goes the dynamite!” Boris sang.

Every time they had sex this bird cracked me up!!

Mystery and action always plays a huge part and Lani balances this with the sexy and sweet love story with blazing scenes of passion between Foster and Blake. I will say I cried like a baby a few times. With the best ending and epilogue ever I'll remember this story for a long time. I am so happy this author writes like the energizer bunny because I just can't wait for more.

Lani Lane Vale is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors, as quickly as her work hits my kindle I have to read it and this was no exception.
The whole Code 11-KPD Swat series has been fantastic and after catching a little of Foster’s story at the end of the last book, I wanted him to get his happy ever after, I just wasn’t sure he was going to find the right woman for him.
But I should have known better because Lani dished up just the woman to take the edge of this angry man.
Blake is starting over after a divorce that saw her walk away with very little in the way of either reward or satisfaction, her ex is not only still in town, he has moved on and moved his new partner into the home they once shared.
She is desperately trying to find her feet again and to shake off the humiliation of the cheating SOB. As a serving officer, his colleagues hid what he was up to for far too long and people she thought she could trust were silent when she needed them the most and I think that stung her more than what he had done to her.
Foster on the other hand keeps everyone at a safe distance since he lost part of his leg in the events of the last book. He has been through so much and in some respects he still hasn’t mentally adjusted to his life as an amputee but he has fought his way back onto the SWAT team and that is no mean feat.
Their initial meeting is less that auspicious but given the fact that Blake ends up working as a dispatcher they can’t avoid each other and eventually they become friends.
But this pair were always destined to be so much more than that, they had the makings of a beautiful couple from the very onset but it was nice that their story was given time to grow, it didn’t feel rushed at all, it was believable.
Blake never let the situation with Foster’s leg phase her, she took it all in her stride and when things were tough for her, Foster made sure he was there to keep the demons at bay.
He was sure to show her that he would protect her no matter what, just as she was determined to show him that, that devotion cut both ways.
The inclusion of the characters from the previous books and the inference and introduction of characters that will star in the books that will complete the series is superb, I love following their lives and getting the titbit updates on what is happening to them all as the stories continue.
I could witter on about this book and the series forever but it serves no purpose. It would only bore you and I don’t want that to happen because you should read this, heck no you should start at the very beginning and read the whole series, you will not be disappointed.
Super work from a super author – can’t wait for the next book!

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved, loved, LOVED Charlie Foxtrot!! 4 September 2015
By A Hopeless Romantic's Booklandia - Published on

Charlie Foxtrot was exactly the book I've been waiting for to get me out of this book funk I've had going on for awhile. The books have been great but they either didn't blow me away or give me everything I crave in one of my reads. This book did give me all of that, though, and it was just a relief - I feel relaxed, rested, and rejuvenated! It was absolutely wonderful and I loved, loved, LOVED Charlie Foxtrot!!

Oh my gosh, I looooved Blake!! She's strong, sassy, and passionate, but she's also vulnerable and had me laughing all the time. Blake is just a real, awesome heroine and I completely loved all of her!

Foster had me laughing from the very first page and even though he can be a total grouch, he still makes me laugh while he's being one. I loved that even missing some of his leg, he wasn't totally bitter and he didn't let having a prosthetic hinder him. Does he still have some issues with it sometimes? Yeah, he does - Foster's not all rainbows and butterflies all of the time, but I understood that. He's just a wonderful, possessive, caring, claiming, and occasionally, an a*shole hero, but I absolutely loved him!

Charlie Foxtrot is a read that will break your heart and make you want to cry and yell and probably hit something, but it still wasn't very angsty. There are dark moments, but it was still a light and easy read for me because Ms. Lani Lynn Vale knows how to make you laugh. There weren't a lot of times when I wasn't laughing or enjoying myself. It was just a steamy, beautiful, a little heartache-y read with mystery, danger, and a whole lot of humor. It was an amazing book and even though I'm a little sad that it's over, I'm also glad because I just absolutely, positively loved it!!

Charlie Foxtrot is a standalone, it's told from mostly Foster and Blake's POV, and they have a great HEA ending!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love This Series 5 Stars 3 September 2015

All I can say is Charlie Foxtrot is by far my favorite of these series. I’m not surprised that Lani Lyne Vale has done it again with this book, but she is truly a talented writer/author.

This is the story of Foster and Blake both dealing with different things in their life right now. Foster is angry at everything and everyone is on edge around him. Since losing his half of his leg it has changed him into an angry bitter man. Blake is learning to move on from life she thought was meant to last, but instead had to deal with an ex-husband who cheated on her and humiliated her in front of her so called friends. I love how their relationship developed over time, which it became easy for both of them to be around each other. Don’t get me wrong Foster was dealing with issues due to his leg, but I could feel how Blake never let his injury affect what they had. In this book you’ll get a really good storyline as well some drama, but as well some really HOT sex scenes that will make you put down your kindle for just a little bit to fan yourself. Throughout the story these two are constantly dealing with someone trying to hurt them or dealing with an ex who wanted nothing more too humiliated Blake all over again. I loved seeing how Foster opened up to Blake and eventually how much he loved Blake was shown to her.

I’m a sucker for a good book this book did it for me. While reading it, I did cry a little cause; I felt what these characters are going through. It was nice to read a book that evolved around there careers, but how it affects them outside of the job. I could feel the pain of what it was like to be hurt by others actions and how it took a toll on everyone around them. It was nice to see past characters from her other books in the story as well. It’s always good to see everyone getting along and how much they are about family in the end.

Just one click it don't think about it go get this book today and I promise you’ll love it as much as, I did. From page one till the end, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down at all. I’ve been reading Lani Lynn Vale books from the beginning and will continue to do so.
