...but I couldn't bear to read on. I managed to finish chapter 3, but only by skimming over the pages. I was really looking forward to finally reading a romance novel that was not about the 25 - 30 age group. One thing that annoyed me right from the start was the liberal sprinkling of the text with commas, unfortunately not in places where they should have been.
The story itself didn't grab my interest at all. In the first chapter the interaction of Samantha and Tom seems like that of strangers, very stilted, both from a plot point of view as well as the writing style.
Also, there was a lot of page-filling info about neighbours and friends that seemed - at least until the end of chapter 3 - boring and irrelevant.
I'm really glad I downloaded this book for free, and hope I'll find a better one about some 30+ romance.
