She thought she was a witch...she's more

If you love witch romances, don't miss this action-packed read!

Skye's a young witch who sucks at spells and works at a metaphysical store, The Green Fairy. Strange things are happening there at night: black specks of movement out of the corner of her eye, mysterious buzzing noises, unidentified dragonfly-like carcasses in the basement, and a hidden cache of absinthe (aka fairy crack).

Kheelan is a human changeling. Raised with the fairies, he's viewed as an inferior species whose only use is to serve his kidnappers. When he meets Skye, he sees an opportunity to escape. The last thing he needs is to be distracted by feelings for this quirky witch.

As Samhain, the witch's Halloween, draws near Skye must make a bold move to claim her heritage and power, restore order in the fairy realm, and try to win Kheelan's freedom and love. Absinthe, autism and augury meld into a paranormal cauldron where fairies are sly tricksters waiting to trap you in their Realm.

For fans of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series!

This can be read as a stand-alone novel.

Praise for Changeling:

"I absolutely adored this enchanting tale that blends Fae lore with the fascinating world of witchcraft in a coming-of-age story that will touch your heart with angst, humor, romance, and charm."

"If there was a way to auto-sign-up to receive every one of Herbert's books, it'd be done already. I LOVED her Dark Seas series and was SUPER excited to see what she had in store with this.

"Skye and Kheelan were immediately relatable and endearing in this coming of age story with magic and fairies. Watching Skye come into her own as a witch was charming. I was rooting for her from the onset, and her flaws, especially as a witch, made the story engaging and suspenseful."
"This was a fast and fun read, highly recommended." Top 500 Amazon reviewer

5.0 out of 5 stars Another awesome book! 11 December 2015
By Author Mary Bernsen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
As usual, Debbie Herbert created a stellar story that will stay with me for a long, long time. Skye is the young lady most of us were in our late teens; a confused, still-searching-for-herself adolescent who doesn’t give herself enough credit. I loved how well I could relate to her character. Kheenan was complex and multi-dimensional, demonstrating the effects of a lifetime of abuse and neglect while still allowing the story to stay light. The magic and world-building was astoundingly vivid and colorful, while the storyline flowed perfectly with sprinklings of real-life social issues throughout (the slavery of the human race by fairies for one). The amount of research that went into every detail was obvious. Debbie made sure she knew her stones and her fae mythology inside and out. Of course, I expected nothing less. Debbie has once again displayed a bounty of talent for the creative writing process, officially making her my favorite author of 2015!

If you are looking for a magical excitingly dangerous adventure look no further. This story has it all and is a awesome addition to this entertaining series.

Skye is a spunky witch the hat thought she know who she would always belong with untill she runs into Kheelen and he opens her eyes to a whole new world that forever changes her. They each find so many things have changed since their adventure began. Can love really save them from forever being trapped by the fae? Love every Hart thumping moment.

Looking forward to more of this magical series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting read! 24 December 2015

I absolutely adored this enchanting tale that blends Fae lore with the fascinating world of witchcraft in a coming-of-age story that will touch your heart with angst, humor, romance, and charm.

Teen witch Skye wants what every young girl wants - for her secret crush to fall in love with her. Tanner, childhood friend and her brother's BFF doesn't return her love. Enter Kheelan, a Changeling stolen by the Fae and forced into their service his entire life. His interest in Skye is strictly business, or so he tells himself. After all, she is 'The One,' destined to save the Seelie Fae from the Unseelie. If he brings her to his masters, he'll win his freedom.

Too bad his attraction to the kind-hearted witch keeps getting in the way.

Throw in a mystery involving the murder of local Pixies and a rich, wonderful Southern setting (warning for Tennessee Vol fans - this one's die-hard Bama, LOL!) and you have a page-turner that will warm your heart and leave you wanting more!

Great for YA and paranormal romance readers :)
5.0 out of 5 stars Mythology Comes to Life 11 May 2017

Debbie Herbert draws on her extensive research to create a refreshing story that uses faery stones and mythology to tell an unusual romantic tale. Skye is a typical teenager and the main character of this story. if you haven't read Debbie's books before, you are in for a treat. It's easy to see why Herbert is now a finalist for Harlequin's RITA Award. Check this book out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Debbie Herbert never disappoints! 17 October 2015

If there was a way to auto-sign-up to receive every one of Herbert's books, it'd be done already. I LOVED her Dark Seas series and was SUPER excited to see what she had in store with this.

Skye and Keelan were immediately relatable and endearing in this coming of age story with magic and fairies. Watching sky to come into her own as a witch was charming. I was rooting for her from the onset, and her flaws, especially as a witch, made the story engaging and suspenseful.

This was a fast and fun read, highly recommended.
