The prologue really kicks you in the feels and gets you hooked into the book from the start. The main characters were enjoyable to read. Their story will put you through the wringer of emotions with many tears along the way and will leave you happy and hopeful by the end. You get a good sense of Easton's struggle with moving on and pursuing a relationship. River was so patient and understanding with Easton and did not take for granted his second change at life. By the end you get a feel that he was not only worthy of Paul's heart but Easton's as well.

Incredibly sweet, emotional story.

My overall impression of this book was one of possibility, hope, and joy. The bravery and strength required to allow hope for the future, after great loss, and the joy that hope can bring.
Change of heart is the story of two men who are on a journey both separately, and together to find happiness and colour in life. This book is not without sadness. Easton is very much a ghost, completely submerged in his grief and loss. River is feeling a little lost and lonely in his life. But the beauty of the book is the journey of Easton letting colour bloom again, and River embracing part of himself and finding someone who brings colour into his life. This book was hopeful and sweet. I read with a smile for most of the book. The sex scenes were great and very much part of the progression. This will be a comfort read for me.

Epically beautiful!!

I know this story would grab my heart and it totally did! It shattered it and put it back together! Kyleen has a way with words and this journey through grief, life, love, and forgiveness; is so epically beautiful, both River, Easton (and Paul) will be in my heart forever!

This story follows a life-altering event for both River and Easton, through the outcomes are very different. 5 years later Easton is still grieving, living in a very grey world, and going through the motions, rather than living. River, on the other hand, is going through the motions of work and life but longs to find an epic love that would add passion to his life. A bit of help from a friend and some unfortunate timing and River and Easton meet and embark on a challenging journey of grief, healing, self-discovery and a new life filled with color!

This book is a fantastic example of what the human heart is capable of and just a beautiful journey to finding new love in an unusual place. I loved River and Easton and hope we will be seeing more of them soon!!

4.5 stars... 💖 A great start to the book as Easton looses Paul tragically and the story progressing from the prologue. I loved the included blurb at the front too. River was clueless to who Easton is but feels a zing coming from his heart. I would've loved to have them meet accidentally but Easton's curiosity beats him. A bi River with no experience with men that's until Easton gets introduced into the story (loved that part as things heat up between them). I don't know, if I was Fox I'd be peeved with all of Easton's phone calls over the "secret" but there great friends and that's what friends do. A great ending and yah secrets get found out. I'd love to read Fox's story if it happens.

Easton loses his husband, Paul but his heart remains to save a life of another.
5 years latter River is still appreciated life's treasures since almost been taken away from him. (KU Read)

A beautiful, emotional story of love and loss, hope and new beginnings. Tragedy rocks Easton's world and he finds he has little to live for anymore, all the joy died with his husband. Easton wants to know if the man who received his husband's heart is worthy, what he didn't expect was to meet River. River brings life and love back into Easton, but can this budding new relationship survive when River finally discovers who his heart donor was? A beautiful and highly emotional story. I could feel the emotion and feelings leap out and wrap around my own heart.

What a journey the author takes you on with this amazing book.
The love pours off the pages between Easton and River. Tragedy in Easton’s life becomes a real life love affair and life has become a blessing for River. The pages are steaming with love between these two. I highly recommend this book but a requirement is a box of tissues.

Damn what a sweet, emotional, hurt/comfort story.
I loved the story and journey these two had, I liked the connection between River and Easton.
I loved that River was able to talk to Easton when the secret Easton had been keeping came out and that they were able to move forward and get past the secret Easton kept from River that was a pretty big secret to keep.
This is one story you should read.

This is wonderful book that will give you all the feels, right from the very first paragraph in the prologue.
You’ll be taken on an emotional journey as the two main characters find their way together.

I love all of KM Neuhold’s writing, so I knew change of heart would be no different. Based on the blurb I expected tears...and oh my goodness I wasn’t wrong. Change of Heart had me sobbing in multiple places.

Easton lost his husband 5 years ago, and following his husband’s wishes donated his heart to save the life of a stranger. He’s lived in limbo for the last 5 years, devastated at the loss of Paul. To try to move on, he gets his friend to track down River - the man who got Paul’s heart, to make sure he’s worthy of the gift. This starts a rollercoaster of adventure, love and the introduction of colour back into Easton’s life.

River had a heart transplant 5 years ago to save his life, lucky to get the chance of a donor against all odds or he’d have been dead within weeks. Since then he’s had periods of melancholia...until one day when a stranger saves his life and starts something River never thought he would have.

I loved both characters beyond reason. Easton was so broken hearted at the loss of his love that he made me cry. Experiencing him moving on was heartbreaking in a cathartic way. River was so apprehensive at something he had never experienced before that feeling this with him was heart and soul warming. I felt so invested in their relationship that I couldn’t put my kindle down. I needed to know how everything progressed and I wasn’t taking a break until I got there. The ending was beyond anything that I could have asked for...and yet again there were tears (I think every time Easton cried I might have too!).

An ugly cry story that was life and soul affirming, told by a storyteller with a gift that gets more magical with each book they write. I cannot recommend this book more for the rollercoaster of emotion that it took me on across it’s pages.

A sweet story, nice read, not heavy, you can always rely on this author for good stories. This was something different in getting two to meet, no ‘fake boyfriend’, no ‘brothers best friend’, this was a heart transplant. The very beginning had me in tears, it hit me in the gut from page one, so sad. River and Easton are the sweetest MC’s and fit so well together, you can’t help but route for them even though you know what’s coming.
