Five-time RITA finalist and RITA award winner Gayle Wilson has written almost thirty novels and novellas for Harlequin/Silhouette. A former high school English and world history teacher of gifted students, she writes historical fiction set in the English Regency period and contemporary romantic suspense. She has won more than 40 awards and nominations for her work. Recent recognitions include the Daphne du Maurier Award for the Best Historical of 2000 for MY LADY'S DARE. MY LADY'S DARE also won the 2000 Shining Star as the overall winner in the Sooner Area Romance Writers Rising Star Awards. Her 2000 Intrigue, RENEGADE HEART, was a finalist in the prestigious Romance Writers of America's RITA awards for Best Romantic Suspense, a category in which Gayle has been a finalist for the last three years. Another of her Intrigues, THE BRIDE'S PROTECTOR, won the RITA for the Best Romantic Suspense novel of 1999. Gayle still lives in Alabama, where she was born, with her husband of 33 years and an ever-growing menagerie of beloved pets. She has one son, who is also a teacher of gifted students.
