Product Description

*Catching Kate is book 1.5 in The Acceptance Series. Breaking Kate should be read first*
After almost four years, Michael Matthews has come face to face with the love of his life. To say it didn’t go quite as he envisioned is an understatement. Never in a million years would he have imagined that his best friend, Daniel, is the new man in Kate’s life.
Once their explosive evening concludes and everyone goes their separate ways, Mike takes the time to calm down and plan his next move. If there’s one thing that calms him it’s Kate, even if it’s just memories of her. Mike has four hours before he sees her again and gets to plead his case. Instead of sleeping, he spends his evening remembering every detail of their relationship from the beginning.
Experience Mike and Kate’s love story from the start, all from Mike’s point of view. Find out why he left Kate in pieces and learn just how far he’ll go to make her fall in love with him all over again.

WARNING: **this does come with a warning that it’s to be read after Breaking Kate**
This novella is from Michael’s view point in the Kate, Daniel and Michael love triangle. I found it very jumpy through time spans but thankfully, having reading Breaking Kate, it all made sense.
I kinda had an understanding and a bit of compassion for Michael and his character through Breaking Kate – but now, reading this, he’s a douche. He’s self-centered, emotionally bankrupt, ego driven, ‘little bitch syndrome’ and I found myself thinking ‘HA! I hope you get what’s coming to you!”
This series is a very good reminder of ‘you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone’ and that sometimes, not getting what you think you want is actually a huge blessing. I really didn’t like Michael and for me to get my hackles up during a book, the author has done a good job. I’m really pulling for Daniel – oh GOD how badly I want Daniel to ‘win’! I’m really looking forward to Releasing Kate to see how this love triangle continues.

HASH(0xb150e600) out of 5 stars Can't wait for more!! 10 July 2014
By Halos and Horns Book Blog - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Let's start this journey with me stating I'm team Daniel all the way!! Even after this amazing installment of this series.
That said let's talk about Mike, Michael, or whatever name you want to call him, I prefer jacka$$ mainly because of book one. Lol... We gain a new perspective in Catching Kate, we hear from Mike, and what made him the man whore and royal douche to women that he has become. Seeing the breakup and piecing back together of his life opened my eyes to things I missed in Breaking Kate.
Mike goes through women like he goes through underwear just to bury the pain since Katherine, and even though he jumped the gun and made the worst decision in his life at a time when he should have taken a minute to regroup, he knows he isn't or wasn't the man that Katherine, Kate needed then or may want now. He has to fix his life and what better way then by reaching out to Kate and pouring his heart out in a letter.
This brings us to the engagement party and the meeting heard round the world, the worked shock doesn't seem to even begin to describe what happened when, mike, Kate, Daniel and Jess all come face to face.
It's very hard to go into a book like I did with a mindset of this is who and what I believe and to come out with me questioning my choice of sides I've chosen. I'm still very much team Daniel but Mike has earned a spot for sure.
I loved this series since the beginning when I stumbled upon it, I loved this book as a 1.5 and can't wait for the next one to see where do they all go from here.
D. Kelly you rock girlfriend!!

HASH(0xb150eb04) out of 5 stars how he fell head over heels in love, and why he broke it off with Kate ... 10 September 2014

This book is the “in-between” book that tells Mike’s POV of the things that happened before and during Breaking Kate. It goes back in time to tell us how Michael met Katie Grace and Jess, how he fell head over heels in love, and why he broke it off with Kate and left everyone in his life behind. Basically you’re getting the back story from Mike’s POV on everything leading up to the end of book one, even him meeting Daniel, Connor, and Jake. (Which gave me new love for their bro-mance) ;)

In case you didn’t know, I loved book one of this series! Sometimes, I am not a fan of (in-between) novellas, but this book was awesome and is very important to the series. It gives us a closer look at Mike, which is a really beneficial, especially because I kind of didn’t like him so much in book one. Now, after reading his POV, I am torn between the two guys, I think I might still be #TeamDaniel, but I am not sure….

This is an emotional book that will keep you wanting more and will completely make you change your mind on things you may have thought about Michael and Katherine’s romance and devastating end. I love reading Dee’s writing as she writes with passion and high emotion; it makes me fall in love with her characters.

If you have not read book one ---Breaking Kate, you are missing out, get it today you, must read it before reading Catching Kate. This is great original story that you’ll fall in love with. I can’t wait to see where the series takes us!

HASH(0xb150edf8) out of 5 stars Once you start you wont be able to put it down !!! 24 July 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This is the second in the " Acceptance" series from author D. Kelly and after reading this book I'm not sure you side I am on any more . After you read this book you wont be able to decide if your team Daniel or team Mike .

As I sat down to read this book I was al for Daniel getting his women . But once I started reading this book and seen Mike side of every thing it had me thinking which one I want Kate to be with . This book helped to filled some of the pieces from the first book. In this book you see how Mike goes through his feelings and emotions with and with out Kate . You get so see how their became a Mike and Kate in the first place. In this book you get to see why Mike stayed away so long and why he came back for his Kate. This book bring a whole level to " Breaking Kate " that some may have not realize yet.

This book is full of so much raw emotions that at times had me gasping . This book full of emotional roller coaster of emotions that had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. This book pulled on my heart string so many time. This book made me laugh, yelling and cry but no mater what I would not put this book down for the life of me .

By the time your done reading this book you wont know who team you will want to me on .

Their is so very much more to this book I did not share in my review because this is a must read. I cant wait to read more from this author in the future .

Catching Kate (Acceptance #1.5)
by D. Kelly

I thought this was a lovely read and was nice to see Mikes side of things. Before reading this I was torn between Mike and Daniel but after reading this I am all for Daniel. I do not see how one man can think he has rights when he walked away after treating her so bad decides he has the right to come back and tear her world apart. How he can feel no one but he has the right to have her. So sorry for you loss but you lose in my book. It is time for him to move on to all those wonderful ladies he has had his pen** in and settle for someone else.

It was great to hear from Mike, I feel his pain and feel for him but I do not see his view point at all. The author does an outstanding job giving everyone’s feeling out, she tells a story of heart broke that will feel like you are part of the book. It will be interesting to see who wins Kate and what they do to not only win but keep her. I for one think it is time for Mike to grow up and stop feeling sorry for him self, when one walks away they should make sure that is what they want. Good bye means good bye not see you later when I can decide what I want and it might be you but for now kiss off.

This is my 2 cents worth but I feel sure there will be tons of readers who will and do love Mike and want him to win the girl. You will love this read and get more of a feel for how things happen and how they will go.

HASH(0xb150ed8c) out of 5 stars Will first love be forever love 21 July 2014

Will first love be forever love...?

Kate & Jess' happily ever after is rocked by the sudden appearance of Mike at Jake and April's engagement party. Your heart literally stops when Mike and Kate make eye contact for the first time in four years. As a reader I could feel that split second when their past, and bad decision making on Mike's part, comes crashing down around them. At the same time your heart is breaking for Daniel. The novella is from Mikes POV and takes you back to where Mike, Kate, and Jess meet for the first time and the life events, good and bad, that lead up to where this heart stopping moment takes place. You learn how three people who where so close could be torn apart by a family tragedy and when tragedy strikes miscommunication and blame takes shape instead of rational thinking. Mike and Kate's lifes were permenantly altered from paths they thought they were destined for. Michael makes his case and his bid for Kate's heart.

While I beleive we've all made our minds up about who Kate belongs with (haven't we??), I know I had to give Mike some sympathy after reading his story. But I am still #teamdaniel. I can't help it.
