Disclaimer: I am a G-Shock collector.
This watch looked liked a kid's watch, so got it for my daughter. Oh boy, what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be. Its a small Baby-G but full featured G-Shock: 200m water resist, shock resist, Home Time, World Time, Stop Watch, 5 Alarms, Hourly Chime, Timer, backlight, the usual. Now the unusual part: It has a databank of 25 numbers (very similar to vintage Casio DataBanks), a Day Count feature (counts days to or from a particular date - I do not know any other Casio do this), built-in Bullbar that makes the face of the watch extremely robust in sporting activities, and it randomly displays cat or dolphin animation or a G logo in the dotmatrix screen on top side. And its cool to see such easter eggs in a watch!
Casio has made G-Shocks with unique features in the last 35+ years. Features in this watch are unique and definitely fun, and something that I will value.
As to the longetivty of strap, as some reviewers have pointed out, resin bands are not steel bands which will last for ever, but Casio bands usually last multiple times more than a leather or common rubber or silicon bands, in my experience. Replacements are difficult and expensive to find though, and for this not-so-popular model, perhaps impossible. Its a glossy transparent band, and going by various reviews bound to become dirty, but I will not hesitate to give it a soap wash every 3-4 months.
It uses a CR1616 3V battery, that should last 3-4 years. These batteries are not hard to find. I expect at least 10 years of service life out of this little watch for my daughter.
Needless to say, I recommend this watch for ladies.
