How to use the dog nail grinder?

1. First accustom your dog to the sound of the grinder. Do this by turning on the grinder and offering him some irresistible treats. This way, he can begin associating the sound with a pleasant reward.

2. Make sure dog is in a comfortable position. Carefully place the grinder onto the nail, choosing the appropriately sized port when using a nail guard. And please start with the low speed.

3. Only grind a small amount at a time. Grind across the bottom and then carefully in from the tip of the nail, smoothing rough edges as you go. Rewarding your dog every single time you do one of the steps.

Note:

2. To avoid tangling of hair on long-haired breed dogs, push hair away from pe's paw before applying the grinder.

3. Trim dog nail at right angle. Put the electric nail grinder around the 45 oblique, move the grinder to trim the nail around.

It is a lot noises than what they claimed it to be.
Also will take a very long time to trim the dog’s nails.
Sadly my husky does not have the patience for this.
If you going to buy this, buy some masks as well, as the nails get grind into fine dust that you and your pets will inhale.

I’m a dog groomer, works amazing on an average of 7/10 dogs. Most dogs don’t mind it at all, it’s very quiet. I usually trim nail first and then use the grinder to make it smooth and shorter.
Does not work on most large dogs - their nail is too big to fit in the space.

I've always been a little afraid of trimming my dogs nails for fear of cutting too short. I have 2 small dogs and their nails grow fast, so I finally decided it was time to learn because paying to have them trimmed so frequently was too expensive. This grinder came with information on how to trim the nail which made me feel more confident. The grinder worked great and it was my first time using it. I was able to use by myself without having someone else hold my dogs. Both of my dogs did really well with the grinder. I allowed them to get adjusted to the sound first and rewarded them with treats throughout the process. The wiggled a bit at times, but overall stayed still and allowed me to trim. I love how quiet the grinder is. I included a video so hopefully you can hear that it is quiet. The video was taken after I had trimmed my dogs nails and as you can tell they were not fearful of it at all afterwards. Highly recommend!

I wanted to wait a bit before I posted my review. I have 3 dogs, and I wanted to try it on all of them at least once. I have 2 small yorkie dogs and then a large pit bull. The two smaller dogs were pretty easy to manage, their nails fit in the slot pretty good, and they were not really freaked out by the noise of the grinder. It scared them at first, but they were good after that. My big pit was a bit different. He's never had his nails worked on before, I should say first of all. At first he got very freaked out, but that was mainly by the grinding feel, not anything to do with the device. His nails are huge, so didn't fit in there so much at first, but after a few minutes, they were fine. The noise was a bit loud for him, but other than that, the grinder did what it was supposed to do. Since it was his first time, I didn't want to spend a long amount of time on him, thought I would ease him into it. But the grinder seems to work well, and I hope it stands up to the test of time.

Wow!!! I have had 3 dog nail grinders in the past. This one beats all of them by far!! The other ones had good reviews on Amazon and did the job, but this one goes above and beyond. It it very quiet on both settings, which is great, especially for skittish pups. It is sooo fast! I have 3 dogs and it would take several minutes per dog, about 30 minutes total. Not with this one. All 3 were done in less than 10 and they were much shorter and looked better than when using the other grinders. It also didn't get nearly as hot as the other ones do. I am very impressed. The packaging is nice. It has everything you need. The company sent paper manuals, but also an email copy. There is also a lifetime warranty. I would definitely recommend this grinder to any dog owners!

I LOVE this!! I haven't been able to cut my dog's nails in months because she is terrified of the nail clippers, I got this today and tried it out and in 5 minutes I got all her nails about half the length they were and now they are nice and rounded!!
