With spine-tingling descriptions, this is an excellent story. Looking forward to the next!Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 June 2020
I really enjoyed this story, although it did have spoilt moments when Sam and Lilith threw tantrums like teenagers! The descriptions of the pixie mansion were spine tingling, really giving me the creeps. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next after such an intriguing cliffhanger too!
Murder victims covered in glitter?Reviewed in the United States on 26 July 2020
Murdered bodies covered in glitter? Warden Samantha Rain and her companion Lilith, Will-of-the-Wisp heiress, are assigned to cover the scene. Under Nox Law, bodies are disposed of within a fixed timeframe. Investigations are not common although Sam feels the need to uncover the killer and motives for the crime. Sam, a retired police officer, is familiar with human crimes but will need to convince Lilith to help . Lilith, next in succession the her father, King of the clan, has never been one to accommodate the will of others. Born of privilege she rages throughout life with her impetuous style that must be tamed by a warden, Sam. So begins the course of investigating Pixies, their presence shown by glitter dust over victims. This was a free book for a review. I have no connection to anyone involved. The story was well written and included some facts about pixies not usually written in tales. There is also some same sex romantic relationships but no graphic details. The story was well written but I felt it needed more action and the ending felt deflated to me. Good read for cozy genre.
