Enjoyable romantic angst!

A sign you have invested in a book and it’s got you - is when you’d like to get into the pages and shake the heroine because she's stuck in her thinking and needs to let go of what’s keeping her stuck in pain so they can live a HEA. This was Rose!

This romance set as a cop drama gave a place for the romantic drama to take place and it was a slow burn. I think this would make a good movie at some point.

I haven't read a chick lit in ages and randomly read this book out of the blue. I was drawn by the title. I'm glad I did pick this one as it made me remember just what I loved about chick lits and the pure escapism they provide. Though it is a chick lit is not complete fluff and the the story is gritty at times and feels very realistic. It is true to it's title with the main character being a detective and trying to deal with her feelings for her hunky detective partner. Let's just say it's complicated but if you enjoy sexual simmering tensions with misunderstandings and arguments thrown in along the way to make the path to love a little rocky, you will love this book. A very enjoyable read.

This is my first book by this author and it will not be the last. It has an intriguing storyline, great characters and lots of emotions, twists and turns. I would have loved to read this book from Eithans point of view as well. Loved it!

I was looking for a slow burn romance and this book didn’t disappoint! The story is told through the point of view of Rose and took me through the highs and lows, the processing of feelings, angst, disappointment, and the longing. Even when things take a turn and love is a very viable option, there are internal fears and demons that hold Rose back, which felt realistic and human (it’s not an instant-HEA). There’s enough action to move the plot but it doesn’t take over the romantic and human dynamic, which I liked. Recommended!

I don’t usually read romance but I really liked this book. The tension and emotions are well done, the characters are not the perfect heroes but feel real and flawed. The framework of their environment also gives a realistic flavor (as much as I understand cops’ world). Recommended!
