This is a second chance story told in dual POV's. This author is good with the buildup, connection & chemistry with her characters.

Brett, the business heir, playboy, party boy & manwhore was friends with Lani as kids. He protected her from the bullies but did something to make her leave & stay away for 8yrs. Funnily enough she is hired by his dad to fix his reputation.

Sparks ⚡️ fly between these two & there's 'the thing' incident. In all honesty with everything he did, to me it wasn't worth the hype & buildup. But I'll let you decide.

There are some other good characters who will get their own stories soon as well as an interfering aunt. So overall a decent read. It did fall a bit flat for me after they hooked up but other than that another good story from this author.

Lani is home for her grandmother's funeral. She left 8 years ago with a broken heart and has not been back. She will have to deal with the man that broke her heart, Brett Walker.

Brett has made some poor decisions in his life and has a few regrets. The main one being he never got to tell his best friend Lani how he felt about her. His father has decided his bad reputation needs to be restored. The woman to do that is Lani who is a incredible journalist. She decides to take the job but wants minimal contact with Brett.

Lani wants to do the series of articles and leave town again with her heart intact. Brett is determined not to lose her again.

I enjoyed this story. It is a second chance romance with a sense of humor. I loved the character's. Lani is bit guarded at first but Brett breaks down her walls bit by bit. Brett has a heart of gold that he keeps hidden from those he loves. Lani is the one person that makes him feel complete. He wants to share his true self with her. I liked the secondary character's as well. I am looking forward to Raven's story.

I am a complete sucker for anything by Emma Hart. She has one of my most favourite writing styles. She writes amazing love, heart thumping chemistry and incredible humour.

Casanova follows Brett Walker who is an arrogant jerk. He is attractive and knows he is gods gift to women. He has spent 8 years making some poor life choices and mistakes. The small town community he lives in is just waiting for him to self combust.

Lani Montana moved away 8 years ago, after Brett Walker broke her heart. He didn't know he broke her heart. He didn't know that she was madly in love with him.

When Lani has to come home to attend her grandmother’s funeral, all she hopes for is to NOT have to see Brett. Unfortunately Brett's family has other ideas.

The Walker family know that Lani is a freelance journalist. They also know that the town thinks Brett is a massive screw up. So when they enlist Lani to write a few articles to try and sway the town's perception of Brett, it means that she can no longer outrun the hurt he caused her.

I loved this story. My heart really connected to Brett and Lani. I had my fingers crossed the whole book that it was going to have the outcome I wanted.

Yet again, Emma Hart has captured great sexual tension, angst and emotion.

Can hardly wait to read Raven's story next!!

Coming home again after years of steadfastly staying away, Lani never intended to stay. She certainly never intended to see HIM. Not ever.

The plan was simple, even if somewhat mercenary. Attend Grandma's funeral, make the obligatory exchanges with her mother and sister, and get out again, hopefully without even so much as saying HIS name. (His name is Brett by the way)

Messing up the plan is left to Lani's sister Connie, three months away from becoming a single mom and struggling to cope without any significant support from their mother, begging her to stay at least until the baby is born.

Complicating things even further is Camille, once Lani's best friend renewing their friendship as if Lani hadn't left suddenly, inexplicably, without a word, and pressuring Lani into using her journalistic skills while she's back in town to take on a mammoth task ... cleaning up Brett's bad boy image ... if that's even possible.

Would that it were possible without ever coming face to face with him again.

The antagonism between Brett and Lani, who were once close enough to call each other best friends is off the charts as Emma Hart weaves her magic once again. Fear, hate, self-loathing, curiosity hurt, anger pain and love all work to propel the two main characters through an intricate dance where each tries to peek behind the curtain of the other's secrets while endeavoring to keep their own hidden.

All of which leads them on a journey of discovery, both about themselves and each other leading to heartbreaking revelations and an epic conclusion.

Casanova by Emma Hart is a standalone romance told in dual POV. It is a second-chance romance of sorts packed full of emotion, regret, redemption and of course, steam!

Brett Walker is the reason Lani left whiskey in her dust so many years ago and now she is back. He has a reputation that is sitting in the gutter, making the gutter look bad, and despite Lani's better judgement, it is now up to her to improve his reputation.

Brett never knew why Lani left without a word all those years ago but it has affected him and his outlook on life and everything else in such a way that he is now finding he has to redeem his character to the one person he never thought he'd have to.

Can these two independent and stubborn individuals move beyond the mistakes from the past, work through the issues of today, and build a future together for themselves, or is it just a doomed fling from the start?

With betrayals and deceit mixed in with some healthy doses of lust and passion this book will have you planning a trip to the keys in search of the small town life (and ok, maybe in search of a Brett of your own too). Another phenomenal, well-paced, well-written romantic read from Emma Hart, a must-read author for me. Enjoy!
