“To carry her home” is an anthology of flash fiction stories submitted for the Bath Flash Fiction prize. Flash fictions are short short stories of generally less than a thousand words in length. In the case of the UK Bath annual awards the stipulated length is three hundred words or less - so the pieces are very brief indeed. The collection contains a large selection of stories which are of a very varied character. A multitude of different flash writers from a variety of cultural backgrounds is represented . The overall quality is very high and many of the pieces are characterised by the enigmatic and avoidance of the overt. Most writers take considerable care with their use of language and the collection contains some very high quality writing. This publication is brilliant value for money, a treat for readers enamoured of the flash genre and would also form a delightful introduction for readers as yet unfamiliar with flash fiction.
