4.0 out of 5 stars A sweet cyborg hero and his wounded Tinkerbell 20 March 2016
By S. Richards - Published on

This was fun to read, a sweet romance with some hot sex, some action, and some violence (I wanted to destroy the bad guy). I loved Dale, such a sweet alpha hero. So not a jerk, just very protective and willing to die for his woman: "F- with Illumina, you deal with me." I liked how smitten he was practically from first glance, how he'd think about her, hoping to see her or run into her. There was quite a bit of story from his POV, and it just made him seem like a sweet, nice guy, a cyborg with a big, tender heart. I liked how big and tough he was, so much taller than the petite heroine.

Illumina was such an interesting alien h. I pictured an almost Lord of the Rings kind of fairy, all silvery and beautiful with the long white-blond hair and silver eyes, with that kind of dazzling, other-world glow. She's scarred, an abused heroine on the run from her evil ex, and Dale was just the cyborg to give her refuge. They were so sweet and sexy together. It took her a bit longer to fall, given her history, but Dale fell right away and wanted to keep her forever. I also liked how, although Illumina was fragile and delicate, she could be tough in her own way and pretty resilient.

I like how the author has set this up for more stories, and surely Carter will have one!
A fun read that went quickly with the action and danger but also delivered a sweet romance with a totally feel-good h/H.

4.0 out of 5 stars and those amazing Cy-Ops guys 21 March 2016

I am officially a fan of Sci-Fi Romance, and it is all because of Cara Bristol. Oh, and those amazing Cy-Ops guys! I first found CB through a reading challenge on GR and started her Breeder series. I still look forward to continuing with that, but the Cy-Ops series has me all in at this point! This installment was the best yet! Like a runner hitting her stride, CB has moved into the sweet spot of this series in that the reader is completely comfortable in the big picture by this installment and can savor the details. Illumina and Dale are brought together under suspicious and dangerous circumstances, but both have a background that has given them great strength under pressure. This story has such rich visuals to it that the writing allows you to get lost in color and light, tone and texture. Illumina’s hair; Dales hands; the stars flying by when they are out on a joyride…how beautiful! These two have to deal with their attraction to each other under hostile conditions, and it only makes their alliance stronger. There is nothing awkward about their pull towards each other in that they work well together in business and pleasure. The pace and timing of it are fantastic. I love that the women in this series are all so strong and with Illumina’s intelligence, Dale has not only met his match, but had it exceeded. And, he’s good with that! And I was good with imaging Dale….yum.

5.0 out of 5 stars An unbelievably satisfying HEA 23 May 2016

Dale is a cyborg who has left Cy-Ops to run his own company. When he's looking to hire a new employee, he ends up interviewing Illumina, a petite woman with a perfect resume. While common sense tells him not to hire her, that she's hiding something, he does anyway. Though, what she is hiding, or hiding from, turns out to be far more dangerous than Dale ever imagined. His life, and those of his Cy-Ops friends will never be the same.

Like the other books in this series, Captured by the Cyborg has just the right amount of action and smexiness. It's filled with tension, and is a love story between two characters whose happily ever after is unbelievably satisfying.

I will definitely be buying the next in the series when it releases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bristol's creativity shines... 20 April 2016

Entertaining read. Read it in one sitting. Cara Bristol knows how to feed information to the reader at just the right pace to keep curiosity piqued. Illumina's background mystery was solved only after Dale Homme, the male main character, had enough time to get in deep, emotionally. Their chemistry worked wonderfully. Bristol's world-building is outstanding, and her creativity shines when it comes to inventing alien races. The heat level was pretty hot--but there wasn't so much that it got in the way of a good story. This was the first book in the Cyborg series I'd read. I'll definitely read more.
