5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent entry-mid level Full frame mirror less camera
By Nabeel Aziz on 26 November 2020
I have this Camera with kit lens for about a month. Used it for few test shots and on a day trip. I absolutely loved the results and its ease of use. Less than half the weight compared to my other Full frame DSLR which I have sold and not regretting it. So easy to take it on hikes and walks. Bought on special 20% from Digi Direct and then Canon throw in its 35mm RF mount prime lens as a promotion. so really a great bargain.

I use it for stills mainly. I know 4K is cropped but I do not use it. Many have slightly criticised it for its dynamic range but I am able to pull a lot out of the dark shadows. love the touch screen and menu system. One gripe is battery life which is not that bad for a casual day outing but I bought a spare battery to cover my self.

Face tracking with eye is spot on and almost all of my pictures are sharp. Really liking the Canon color science too.

I created a camera profile using a raw image and imported it into the light room 10 as it does not have one for this camera. Camera and lens profile is available in lightroom. I normally use Neutral profile and then you can go from there to edit your images however you want.

I programmed the focus on the AF back button and it works perfectly. I have The 24-105 f/4-7.1 STM lens. It is by no means a throw away. It is tac sharp and F8 on wards it is fabulous. Light weight and range of 24-105 is a great all rounder. If I need bokeh then I use Primes. But this lens is great for any composition where you want everything in focus and sharp like landscapes, architectures etc.

I will highly recommend Canon RP kit for anyone looking to get into full frame mirror less system. You can use this camera professionally too. There are lots of pro photographers who use it and you can see their videos on youtube. I am planning to use it for real estate photography and so far my test results are amazing.

Remember Camera is one thing and learning photography composition is another...:)
