Update 03/26/20* I discovered that the camera as a webcam is limited. You are unable to zoom either with the remote or with the controls on the camera. For me that was especially vexing because I imagined using that feature while doing a live-stream. - I also have not resolved the over-exposed look of the image. That being said the camera still produces better images than the laptop webcam.

I purchased this camera specifically to use as a webcam. In my first run through with the camera, it has functioned very well for this. Although I must state that nowhere in the provided use guide does it tell you how to get into that mode. Only by looking at the images provided here on the Amazon page did I learn you have to 1. turn it off and plug the usb into the camera and computer, 2. press both the power on and mode button at the same time. Easy - but they really should have told me that in the written instructions that came with the camera.

Although it is point and shoot, there are a few things you will have to practice in order to get things working as well as possible. I am using a mobile external mic - not the one provided - so I can move around without loss of audio quality. It seems to be just fine with whatever I am doing so far.

So, day one with it and I am climbing the learning curve, and so far pretty happy with it.
My only issue is that the video looks a little washed out with the lighting I am using. I need to explore more camera features and see if I can adjust this.
Definitely worth the cost.

Very easy to use, small and light. I must say that for the price this camera did the job and more.It comes with a separate external mic that you can hook up (although not required), 2 batteries, and some cool carrying cases. The additional benefit is that we can exchange and use the other two batteries without interruption for a long time. Highly recommended

I actually received a very kind email from a lady from the company that sent me the camera. She said that she notified the factory's quality control team and software team that they have made improvements. This was a very unexpected reply. I admire their dedication to improve their products. So I raised their rating from 1 star to 4 stars.

Old review:
The manual was minimal. The audio and USB cords were too short. My plan was to use it with a tripod. That would be impossible with the cords. If you used it with a laptop, maybe you could get by, but my laptop does not have an external microphone jack. I tried it with my desktop and the short cords allowed me to only set the camera on top of the computer (it was a stretch). Facebook fails to recognize the camera. Worked OK on Zoom. My big hands made it hard to handle making it feel like a toy.
