In my early 50's and started this as a way to stay limber. Never really worked out much before. Amazing! Great core workout. Tightens every part of your body. It is a lot of work, but worth the results. The leg exercises tighten your thighs almost immediately. The stomach exercises are brutal, but get easier as your core strengthens. The production value on the video is definitely late 80's, early 90's...wish they would update with better music and look...but they must keep the exercises the same. I'm a Callanetics convert!

After trying this workout again, I don't know why I ever stopped doing it. I had amazing results with it back in the early 90s when i was in my early 30s, and now that I'm in my mid 50s, even after just several workouts I'm seeing changes! I'm not over weight but wanted more toning in my hips, thighs and glutes and I wasn't getting the results from weight training classes. The video maybe dated with the clothes and make-up, but the results are timeless and ageless!

I have used this Callanetics DVD (and video back in the day) for years. Got off track with exercise and lent my last copy out. Re-purchased this and am happy to be doing this great and effective method of exercise. The music is relaxing and the results are amazing in short order.

Have used this product and it you do follow the tape, the process and get through 7 to 19 uses of following this workout, even if you do 10 of 100 of each exercise, you won't hurt your back, and this tape is designed to save your spine and save you from post exercise back pain, and get long and lean, you will. It's amazingly efficient for the time one puts in, and you don't need anything but a floor, a chair to lean on, over and against to get the benefits. It just takes intention to really, really do this wonderful workout. A little of each exercise is still in my life today.

Fantastic and as others have agreed, works fast (or "fahst," to quote Ms. Pinkney's unusual faux Britishy accent; she was born in Alabama). I discovered this program 25 years ago when it was new on VHS. Of all the workouts I've tried, this is by far the quickest and most effective for tightening and toning the body. And the one I searched for in vain for years on DVD once we got rid of our VHS player. Finally it's here in all its 80s glory. Yes, the teacher (Callan Pinkney, whom dubs herself "an American original") can be unintentionally hilarious with her odd combination of haughtiness and sincerity, but that just adds to the fun. You WILL find yourself quoting her. But the bottom line (one of her favorite phrases) is that this program she invented DELIVERS. If you follow it (twice a week, three times max) and really master the moves, within a week or two you will feel as if your body is being sucked inward from within. All day long. You will be taut, toned and have much improved posture. The longer you do it, the more limber you'll become. She has advanced workouts, but I found this was all I ever needed. She spends a lot of time making sure you understand exactly how to do the exercises (as with all exercises proper form is crucial). They are all no-impact, deep muscle exercises. You won't get winded or break a sweat doing them, but that doesn't mean they aren't hard. Or effective. I'm a dude, by the way. Like most 14-year-old girls whose bodies have virtually changed overnight my daughter is always complaining about her thighs, butt, stomach, etc. I'm hoping she'll give this a shot. Would be fun to work out together.
