Poor Aurelia, she's so tired of being in the friend zone that she decides to make some major changes and moves to the next town over to put some space between her and Ben. Just after she starts to get settled, a surprise baby from one of Ben's one night stands gets left on his doorstep. SURPRISE!!!!!
Basically a lack of communication between these 2 adults kept them apart. Neither had the courage to tell the other how they really felt. Ben's off sleeping with other ladies to help him deal with what he thinks is his unrequited love for Aurelia, while Aurelia is hurting because of this. While they are both single adults and free to follow their own interests, I do find this type of scenario a little *eye roll* worthy.
I did enjoy the humour that popped up at times throughout the story. Ben's sisters were hilarious, especially his sister Piper. I don't know if she has a book yet, but I want to read it. Bea and the audiobook scene was also really cute. Ben and Aurelia's HEA was a long time coming, but at least they finally figured it out.
I don't think I even read the synopsis for this one, I just went "Ooooo Melissa Foster, yes please!" - and so as I started reading and the baby got dropped on the scene, I was like oh hell no. I should've known not to doubt Melissa though, because this book was amazing. As evidenced by the fact that I devoured it so fast.
I loved both Ben and Auriela in this one, and best friends to lovers is one of my fave romance tropes, so that played in perfectly for me. I adored Bea, and I loved all the family and friends we got as secondary characters. This is written so that there is no angst, plenty of communication (apart from the very start of the book) and lots of love and laughter going around.
There were a couple of loops that threw me at the end, but they were written well, and made me emotional too. The perfect mix of everything in this story, that made me feel things I didn't expect.
With two strong and fantastic main characters, and a supporting cast just as fabulous, this one is sure to be a hit with readers. I highly recommend it, and can't wait for more from this new series!
Obviously I love Melissa Foster's writing and her characters are all really easy to fall in love with. But damn I am a sucker for a secret baby and this baby was so secret Ben never even saw her coming. Aurelia however took to her so immediately which just made me love her even harder.
Ben pissed me off as much as I liked him. On one hand once he decided to move his relationship with Aurelia out of the friend zone there was no doubting his feelings. And I loved that he showed her how much he had always wanted her through their shared history. But on the other hand WTF Ben? It took you forever to make a move and you were far from celibate in that time.
So while I loved the storyline and characters and got the amazing secondary characters I expected I just didn't get quite enough to push it to a 5 star read. But I have high hopes for Remi's story, I just have to pay better attention to my stalking.
Throw in a sexy, new DILF and an adorable bub and I was hooked.
Now, our Ben did pee me off a bit at the start with the way he talked about the baby, but this might just be me, and it wasn't too long before that all changed and went all Papa Bear.
I loved Aurelia and Ben navigating their way to a new sort of relationship. The chemistry is strong in this pair, and as a reader I was left wondering what took them so dang long?
But for me, as much as I liked Ben and Aurelia, Call her Mine was all about baby - made this old duck want to find a baby to squish!
Great secondary characters rounded out this lovely story, and I couldn't help but smile as I was reading.
I look forward to more of this series.

For fans of Foster's books, they will be pleased that this is the story of Ben Dalton. He's been a character in several of the Sugar Lake series. Now it's his turn for a romantic adventure.
Ben's been in love with Aurelia for years and the pair have danced around their feelings for long enough. However it takes a baby left on Ben's doorstep for them to decalre their honest feelings for each other.
I can always rely on this author to ground me in the romance genre, especially if I'm in need of a pick-me-up read. Her charcters are 3-D and the story line believable. Plus there are a support team of other characters who always make you want to be part of their family.
I honestly can't wait for Remi's story.....
Bens story is so good, and beautifully written. The central storyline of Baby B is sweetly and carefully written. I found it very emotional in parts. I adored it :) I'm not sure I've read a book so fast. Definitely one of the best books I've read this year!
I cried with sadness And I cried with laughter!
Loved this story of always getting the timing wrong but somehow perfect. It written in a seriously emotive style, bring out genuine feelings. I connected with all the characters.
I can't wait for the next book in the series and will definitely being looking for more from the author!!
5 well deserved stars from me xx
