Okay, I really enjoyed the two historical romances by this author and I wanted to read something else by her. I did like the romance in this one, what I did not like at all is that author calls this world futuristic one by throwing the reference to apocalyptic disaster and in my opinion does very little to build it up as futuristic world. In fact, I got the impression that the only reason this world is called futuristic is because author needed a reason to have gladiator fights there and here we go, one can do anything in futuristic world after all.
But besides vague reference to interplanet travel, I got very little understanding of what makes this world the world of the future.
Oh and I also thought that Andreas became a skilled fighter way too fast to survive the fight. He trained for how long? A week?
I understand that author needed it for her plot point, but was a bit too unbelievable for me.
Guys were likeable though and I liked their chemistry. Unfortunately these things stopped me from enjoying the book more fully.
Three and a half stars
