Aesthetics: Honestly, it's gorgeous. This is such a step up from everything else in its price range in this department. Aesthetics alone are worth the extra $10 over the Hyper 212 Evo (not to mention the sizable performance advantage).
Acoustics: As mentioned, I am running a significantly lower fan curve to prioritize acoustics. I can hear it, but it's quiet. If I have anything going on my headphones, I can't hear a thing. The hum is not invasive or distracting; in fact, I find it rather comforting at time. I get that that probably sounds ridiculous, but it's true.
Price: To be blunt, you are getting a monster for your money assuming this still costs what I paid for it (35 USD). I've used it since March 2017 (June 2017 at the time of writing), and I have not once wanted for more given the money I spent.
Cons: Mounting was a huge pain and caused me to incorrectly apply thermal paste upon first attempt. Once you get by installation, there isn't much to worry about.
- CRYORIG H7 Tower Cooler mounted firmly and securely, with NO sagging.
- Runs quiet, can NOT hear the H7 cooling fan with the case buttoned up.
- With Intel I5 8600K over clocked to 4.5 Ghz, CPU temperature while surfing net is ranging 29 to 32 C.
- With Intel I5 8600K over clocked to 4.5 Ghz, CPU temperature while playing ghost Recon Wild Lands is ranging 40 to 42 C.
Very pleased with H7 and recommend.
But here is the best part; it came with good quality thermal paste in the package, syringe style applicator and everything. Did I mention that the installation process was so easy to pull off I didn't even break a sweat. Having installed dozens of heat sinks, I can honestly say this thing has to be the easiest air cooler I've ever mounted to a cpu.. You really shouldn't be reading this review any long if you're at all interested in the offerings from Cryorig. Just go buy one and be happy that you have a great air cooler that doesn't scream like an eagle when things ramp up. It is also maintaining good temps consistently throughout my heavy daily use for work and play.
Top marks across the board to Cryorig. Going foward I will be looking to them for any of my future hardware purchases.
Was originally going to get the classic Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo BUT I heard it just barely fits the thermaltake v21 and I have additional fans installed so I wanted to try something shofter.. I heard that these coolers are a little smaller but keep the processor just as cool so I decided to give it a try.
I had the stock cooler on my intel processor but it was starting to overheat (going 90-100 c) when I was exporting videos that I was uploading on youtube in 1080p60.
Replaced it with this cooler and tried exporting a video and it was staying between 60-70 with a resting temperature of about 30 degrees c. If it changes I will update this review but so far I am very impressed!
Installation is fairly easy. It took me a little longer because I didn't want to take my PC apart and put it back together from scratch so I had to work around my other parts. Fits nice and tight as long as u install the back plate correctly. Comes with thermal paste which is a big plus.
I put a picture, I don't know if you can see it but it just sits just a little higher than my graphics card with plenty of space for my overhead fans. I think that the cooler master hyper 212 would probably fit but this shorter cooler is so much easier to work with and I think it is a little easier to install as well. Also another plus is that I can't hear it at all! For those curious specs below
