Product Description

Shari Jones needs to get a life. Preferably someone else’s.
Single, fired and evicted, East Indian-American Shari agrees to her best friend’s whacky scheme: travel to Mumbai, pose as Amrita, and ditch the fiancé Amrita's traditional Indian parents have chosen.
Simple.
Until she’s mistaken for a famous Bollywood actress, stalked by a Lone Ranger wannabe, courted by an English lord, and busted by the blackmailing fiancé.
Life is less complicated in New York. Or so she thinks, until the entourage of crazies follows her to the Big Apple and that’s when the fun really begins.
Shari deals with a blossoming romance, an addiction to Indian food and her first movie role, while secretly craving another trip to the mystical land responsible for sparking her new lease on life. Returning to her Indian birthplace, she has an epiphany.
Maybe the happily-ever-after of her dreams isn’t so far away?

I just finished reading Busted in Bollywood, and I feel kind of giddy. This book was really good! The characters were so colorful and believable. Nicola Marsh painted such a beautiful picture of Mumbai, India, which has always fascinated me.She brought it to life for me in a whole new way. I highly recommend Busted in Bombay.

Busted in Bombay tells the story of a beautiful friendship between Shari and Amrita who would literally go to the ends of the earth for each other. Shari is suffering the consequences of making a huge mistake, and finally setting her life right, leaving her confidence somewhat shattered, and causing her to second guess just about everything. She impulsively agrees to go to Mumbai and pose as Amrita to sabotage the marriage Amrita's parents have arranged, and that's where the fun really begins! Bollywood at it's finest, Indian food that will make your mouth water, a good dose of NYC, hot men and beautiful women. This Book Has It All! Read it today!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bollywood Romance 2 March 2016

Shari Jones has sworn off men. They can't be trusted so she agrees to help her best friend get out of an arranged marriage. Shari will go to Mumbai and kick this unwanted fiancée to the curb. What happens next is a wild ride filled with romance and snarky humor. Shari is entranced by what she finds in her travels. The traditions, the people and the food awaken her senses. Watching the filming of a Bollywood movie is enjoyable. However, the most amazing attraction is Drew. He is intelligent and very attractive. Their chemistry is powerful, but he thinks she's a scammer. What a mess! I loved the exotic location and the differences between these two cultures. It was interesting to see Shari change and grow as a woman. Love can do that to you. Drew is a keeper, but can she give up her life in New York. The road to happiness was filled with angst. I was hooked. Nicola Marsh wrote a seductive romance filled with interesting characters and snappy dialogue. I want more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun Start, Long Finish 2 August 2012
By EL Thomas - Published on Amazon.com

The beginning of this book felt impossibly contrived, but because the narrator was so snarky and because I really love chicklit, I kept going. The heroine's BFF convinces her to go in her place to meet her fiance in an arranged Indian marriage. If you have trouble swallowing that, I did too, but it was still funny, and I wanted to see how it played out. I was gratified when some of the obvious issues, like how easy it is to look people up on the internet, were not ignored and in fact ended up playing a part in the plot as it progressed. However, the plot also contained more contrivances as the book continued, and the narrator had rather questionable decision-making skills. I read chicklit to see the narrators wise up, so to speak, and that process was slow.

Things I really really liked, though, were the voice, the opportunity to read a book that wasn't set entirely in America or Great Britain, and all the twists and turns.

This book is everything the other reviewers had said it is. It is fast paced, colourful and full of beautiful snapshots of India and it's culture.

The characters are brilliant young things with beautiful clothing and sharp wit.

Shari, our main character, has made some mistakes that have left her a bit brittle around the edges when it comes to relationships. Ultimately this is not just a love story it's a story of getting over major setbacks and moving on.

It doesn't delve too deeply into these issues but you get enough of a sense of her becoming whole as a person, not just because of the man in her life.

I'm always a fan of books where the heroine's journey and her career are as important as the hunky hero so this ticks all the right boxes for me.

This book is a fast read, I finished it in an afternoon, and you really won't want to put it down.

Loved Loved LOVED the characters in this book, it brought me fond memories of my friends and I growing up in NY; but you don't have to be a New Yorker or Indian to love this book. Fun Flirty spunky heroine and the bonus was that there were multiple love stories for fans to enjoy. I have read nearly all her books you guys are in for a treat with this one!!!! I hope you get transported as I did to India's sights foods and warm hearted people and while your at it might be fun to read with friends and Indian buffet I know I want to take this book with me as a guide to my favorite Indian Restaurant here! P.S if you loved this story you may also like A trip with the Tycoon also set in India by Nicola Marsh.

Nicola is a friend of mine via some writing groups and I'm embarrassed to say I just now read this. It was fantastic! Great characters, even the sub-characters. Witty, smart dialogue and some very funny situations.

I've read some of her other books but not this one. Why? I assumed the later ones would be even better. I was wrong! They're all good--definitely on my instant read list.
