Detective Lottie Parker worked very hard in solving the mystery of the three murders which took place one after the other and it was difficult to know the motive behind the killings.
It changed back to earlier times and then went back to the present day and at times i got a little confused but as I ready on it all made sense to me. Worth a read. A good book to take on holiday and you are able to put it down and it pick up and continue where you left off, no problem, except if you are reading the time the story switches back to earlier dates, then you have to remember where you are. That is my thoughts.

I've enjoyed all of the Detective Lottie Parker stories, and like I said in the headline, I just can't put them down. Talk about hooking you in and you just want to keep on reading 'just another page' and before you know it - it's past midnite, and sleep is calling. Would definitely recommend these books to anyone who enjoys a good crime thriller.

Once I got to know the characters the story opened up quickly, becoming intriguing; even mind blowing as successive plots unravelled. So much mystery to be solved! Aptly completed after many red herrings. An enjoyable read.

Another epic tale from Patricia Gibney. It is great to connect to a character such as Lottie. Can’t wait to see what she has to deal with next.

I read this fast paced great book in 2 days.
Not like me , but I had to know what was happening and who was responsible.

Not so sure I liked Lottie very much .
The story jumps from past to present a bit but otherwise it was a pretty good story.

I do so enjoy the series, this one has a great sadness at the end. This was more unpredictable than I originally thought, that’s always a good thing

Hang in there Lottie!!

Yup, gutted and in tears. This latest episode of Detective Inspector Lottie Parker and the boys in blue will floor you. I love this series, I have watched each character develop some in leaps and bounds and some fall to the side like Kirby. Now Boyd, I love him and his tenacity as he patiently digs in and waits for Lottie to pull her head out of her proverbial. But this story goes beyond that as Boyd realises that his time is up and takes a step back. Add the powder keg of a missing child, three suspected suicides and her mother Rose interfering again. Is it any wonder that Lottie is eyeing that bottle again.

Had high hopes but was incredibly disappointed in this series.

I am Irish, I support the incredibly Irish female crime writers coming out of Ireland right now like Liz Nugent and Jo Spain. I had high hopes for this series and I bought all five books so that I had continuity.
To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I find Lottie to be an underdeveloped and incredibly unlikeable character. I understand that her back story is being widowed but she also appears to be incredibly selfish, leaving her kids to fend for themselves while she goes off and unprofessionally misses clues that are in her face, and treats suspects with a level of unprofessionalism that if it were to happen in real life would be referred to GSOC!! Also why is it one or more of Lottie's kids is always in the thick of it no matter what is happening while she fecks off back to work and thinks that she must check on them but never bothers. I mean in one of the series, her kid finds a body and off she goes back to work barely gives him a second thought. In the one I'm reading right now her daughter is self harming, there is blood on the floor, she's behaving very out of character but her Mother ignores it all and once again puts dealing with her kids on the back burner. In another there is a woman who is elderly and described as being forgetful, - alluding to a presentation of Alzheimers yet Lottie shouts at her as she "digs her nails into her palms" (she does this often!)to give the phone back. In real life who let alone a senior investigating officer would treat an elderly person this way when it has been explained that she has Alzheimers. At all times Lottie appears to be missing something - maturity, empathy and cop on being among some of them.
As for Lottie's approach to police procedure - she walks all over crime scenes doing what she likes, rarely follows a chain of command I mean her attitude is that she will do whatever she wants and who cares about procedures, chain of evidence etc. Crime scene contamination is the order of the day.
I will keep reading as I have bought these books but oh my goodness Lottie and her attitude stinks and border on contempt. If police behaved like her in real life not only would they be under review but all of their cases would too for contamination of evidence.
Sadly just not good in my opinion.

Two women murdered wearing wedding dresses, then a missing child! Hooked until the end!

Another winner by the amazing Patricia Gibney! I adore Lottie & love how her story continues to unravel. Patricia keeps it realistic & dark at times. Always lots of twists in the books. Life isn't always easy - certainly not for Lottie. Her family life continues to be dysfunctional as she juggles home, work and personal life. I so want Lottie to have her happy ever after! And next book? More Rose please!

Lottie’s life is spiralling out of control and maybe too is the authors. This book was all over the place with far to many twists. I long for a bit more control in the narrative having a story that’s so convoluted leaves me losing patience long before the end, the home life for Lottie is dire with an Mother that won’t listen to her, and three kids that whine about the amount of hours their mother works when she is the only wage earner! And now Boyd has got leukaemia,

Really Gripping Storyline
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 November 2019Verified Purchase
I have read all the Lottie Parker books to date and thoroughly enjoyed them all. However, this was the best by far and I cannot wait for the next one to be published. I really like hearing all about her misfit family and her love for her sergeant Boyd. This book held me spellbound until the last sentence and it was an effort at times to put it down. I didn’t guess the murderer until it was confirmed who it was and it was a really gripping storyline. Excellent book.
